Rational discussion is impossible with you, steveishere. I think you have it in for me no matter what I say on any subject.

Did you view the game again? Did you see how many times Kaepernick was flushed out of the pocket or pressured v. Rodgers?

Can you offer anything more than your emotion to the subject?

Precisely why I took the time to review all pass plays from the SF game and chart them "in the pocket" passes or "forced out/pressured."

But, people believe what they want to believe. And, know that I am very, very excited about Christian Ponder's chances to make the HOF. He has Greg Jennings you know!

Maybe you have a different definition of what pressured means than sites like PFF, but their numbers tell a much different story then what you are offering.

Actually, was only looking at the number of pressures for each QB, as some were saying Kaepernick had all day, and Rodgers did not. And, the numbers on completions in the pocket matched up perfectly. The numbers for forced out/pressured was not a measure of attempts, as sacks and instances where it was a designed pass, Kaepernick was pressured, and he tucked it for a loss are not accounted for in your figures.

Tezzy, can you post same from your source for Rodgers? I'd appreciate that.

Also, note, I just was looking for what I could find in reviewing this myself. Did not wish to look to another web site to copy and paste info. I would encourage others to do the same if you like. Pretty interesting look at the game in retrospect. Our OL did not play as poorly as some here might say. And, theirs did not dominate to the levels some are holding to.

I gladly will. I'm not trying to needle or anything, I just like following the numbers when the topic comes up. Give me a couple minutes and I'll follow up with Rodgers numbers and a couple other numbers that i think were indicative of what we saw from a defensive play calling perspective and how we dealt with Kaepernick in the passing game.

Under pressure:
Rodgers was 4-of-12 on 15 dropbacks with 3 throwaways, 1 drop and 2 sacks. Under pressure 33% of dropbacks.
Kaepernick was 2-of-7 on 11 dropbacks with 1 throwaway, 1 drop and 1 sack. Under pressure 24% of dropbacks.

I also enjoy reviewing the games, but I also like to take multiple sources into account as the guys at PFF and other sites are payed to do their job and be as accurate as possible, and there is a large community that is always trying to keep them in check and challenge their assessments. That's why I will be curious throughout the season to see your numbers as well if you are willing to share your breakdowns and I will share mine as well.

In a nutshell, neither Rodgers or Kaepernick played well under pressure this weekend.

Is that lower percentage indicative of overwhelming OL talent and play, or a combination of a decent OL facing a DL who is playing disciplined vs. the option-read?

Now, let's look at our own Rodgers, who was under pressure 33% of the time. Is this an outrageous figure? Looks pretty damn good to me, vs. a DL that is considered one of the best in the NFL. Our OL provided a clean pocket 77% of the time for Rodgers to throw from.

Was Rodgers running to save his life all day? That's what many here have intimated.

Thank you Tezzy!

As long as we are all ranting at least let me say that I have been asking for a top safety in the draft for 2 years now. I wanted Harrison Smith (you can check the archives) and I wanted one this year. I was told because we didn't address the need in the draft it is because they didn't see it as a problem. Well guess what they were completely wrong twice. Our safeties need help big time. We may never find another Nick Collins, but we cannot go from his level of talent to what we have now and expect another Super Bowl.
