No offense to you or Tex but I don't think he is "the guy".

IMO, it is too early yet to be speculating on a successor at QB just yet . 2 to 3 years prior to retirement will do nicely. At the present I most urgently feel that the Packers greatest need in the next NFL Draft is Linebackers . The Defense needs to take 1st priority in the next Draft .

I am with Smokey on this one. While they have moved some guys around to make the ILB position less of a liability - it could be better. Also it should be noted that Peppers won't be around for more than a couple more years - something to think about in terms of depth. Time to sort this stuff out while we have some serviceable guys.

Right now we've got Tolzien, so I'm not too stressed about it.

Yeah, our bigger need is inside, but we need an OLB in the pipeline too.

I started this thread not really as a joke, but just to highlight the delightful and probably naive statement made by this kid QB the Badgers recruited. However, even he, just a high school senior now, if he played all four years in college, would probably have to sit for 4 or 5 years or more after being drafted in 2020. In other words, yes, it IS way too early. As great as Aaron Rodgers turned out to be, it was a kinda uncomfortable situation snagging him as BPA while the incumbent superstar QB still had so much tread on the tires.

As for the here and now, I'm for getting rid of Flynn, making Tolzien the back up, and maybe picking up a new young late round or FA guy as the third stringer - but that's a topic for a different thread.

earthquake (14h) : Packers draft starters at safety ever few years. Collins, Clinton-Dix, Savage
beast (16h) : Why can't the rookies be a day 1 starter? Especially when we grabbed 3 of them at the position
dfosterf (19h) : Not going to be shocked if Gilmore goes to the Lions.
dfosterf (20h) : I hear you dhazer, but my guess would be Gilmore Colts and Howard Vikings from what little has been reported.

TheKanataThrilla (27-Apr) : I think he ended up with a terrible RAS score
dhazer (27-Apr) : Anyone know what went on with Kitchens from Florida? At 1 point he was to be the Packers 1st round and he is way down the board now
