I remember seeing a handful or so, not most. And I also remember being confused by those few select people who were surprised. Between the two, neither of them was substantially better than the other. I think Goodson was hurt and maybe they felt 'hey we know what Rolle can do, its not much, maybe Goodson will be better' or something like that.

I mean really, he was what the 5th or 6th CB? It's not like they were ruining the future of the team by deciding on one over the other.

That is exactly what Uffda did.

I said Goodson may never be a starter for The Packers or he could become the next Sam Shields.

Big difference in the half quote he posted .

I am not going to join in in his long winded same old bullshit posts, but if he feels the need to quote me then it would be nice if he included the entire post.

I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

This whole story is very simple, folks. kool-aid wants Ted Thompson fired.

We will never know why Ted Thompson made the decision he did. Anyone can say it was for whatever reason they want and can't be proven wrong.

Any GM who would keep a 6th round draft pick to save face, while cutting a SFA that is clearly superior in every way (upside included) should be fired. So ol' kool-aid claims Ted Thompson kept Goodson over Rolle to save face.

July 2014 - Ted Thompson is extended all the way through the 2018 season

August 2014 - CB Jumal Rolle released

Why would Thompson need to cut ties with Rolle (who was added to Practice Squad days later) to save face?

The Packers probably felt putting an un-drafted free agent on the Practice Squad would be easier to stash than a draft selection. Thus, Goodson was kept on the 53 and Rolle was not.

Who is kept and who is not is not all on Ted Thompson by any means. The coaching staff has a role in this as well. No one knows the players and what they see in them more than the position coaches. The Packers happen to have a very solid guy coaching the CB's and you can bet his thoughts on who should ultimately stay or go have a huge amount of weight.
At the 7th round or UDFA level the one with the higher potential and ceiling probably gets the nod and no one here can convince me they know more about this than the coaches and I highly doubt Ted is standing in the corner saying he's going to keep this guy or that guy and doesn't care what the coaches think.

I also think the Packers have done a great job of drafting and developing CB's so I will just trust in the process they go by. Especially when you consider the top three or four are gone by the time they ever get to pick and that will be the case this year as well.

I just hope Goodson can come in an contribute on special teams and line up in the Dime occasionally and not get torched every time. If he does anything other than that great, but I don't expect anything more than a special teamer and part time package player.
