If either or better yet, both are an upgrade I would sign them. Mainly because we have limited time with A Rod. The ILBs we have now, with the possible exception of Ryan, are easily replaced at their level of play.
Why is Jerry Kramer not in the Hall of Fame?

I'm not saying Carl is the answer either, I just don't sense Dansby is that much better, especially in a role the Packers need. Their issue is their ILBs can't cover. I don't see how a 35 year old helps that.

Dansby's play slipped in 2015, but he's still a quality starter. He graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 3 inside linebacker in coverage

NOTE: When they say his play slipped in 2015:

In last season's debacle, he led the team in tackles, tackles for loss, interceptions and defensive touchdowns.

Based on his coverage skills, he would seem to be a good fit for a cover ILB. As long as he still has something left in the tank and isn't too expensive.

What does signing Dansby do to the possible progressions of Barrington and Ryan at ILB?

He does bring the coverage ability to the position. I wouldn't be against the signing, if for the right price. I also wouldn't want this to stop the progression of our young players at the position.
