There has been some discussion online this week about whether the Green Bay Packers should consider retiring any other numbers in the near future. Just this past season the Packers honored former quarterback and Hall-of-Famer Brett Favre by retiring his number and displaying it in Lambeau Field right next to that of his former teammate,

Absolutely ridiculous to retire a number. There is a limited amount of them digits. Remove them from circulation for 10-15 years and move the hell on.

When Dale Earnhardt passed away, I was fine with them retiring the number (the rumors of it anyway) until many years later when Jr drove it in the minor series. I wanted the number to come back because people would talk about ole #3 again. If the number is out of sight, it slips into out of mind a little bit. I'm not saying the players are forgotten, not at all, but they are MORE remembered if we see their numbers.

Stop freaking retiring numbers!

Why can't the NFL or MLB go to triple digits? I think they do in Japanese baseball.

Also why even consider Greek or Hebrew alphabet when they already have 100 numbers and the alphabet is 1/4 as many.

Zero2Cool (12h) : May 3rd. Extension day for Jordan Love. (soonest)
Zero2Cool (1-May) : USFL MVP QB Alex McGough moved to WR. So that's why no WR drafted!
earthquake (1-May) : Packers draft starters at safety ever few years. Collins, Clinton-Dix, Savage
beast (1-May) : Why can't the rookies be a day 1 starter? Especially when we grabbed 3 of them at the position
dfosterf (1-May) : Not going to be shocked if Gilmore goes to the Lions.
dfosterf (1-May) : I hear you dhazer, but my guess would be Gilmore Colts and Howard Vikings from what little has been reported.
Mucky Tundra (30-Apr) : S learn from McKinney who learns from Hafley who learns from the fans. Guaranteed Super Bowl
Zero2Cool (30-Apr) : could*
Zero2Cool (29-Apr) : Safeties should learn from Xavier.

dhazer (29-Apr) : out of curiosity do they try and sign Simmons or Hyde to let these young safeties learn from, they can't be day 1 starters.
