Now that Pennel and Goodson's suspensions are over... what roster moves do you think we'll see?

If everyone was healthy, I might just release Goodson. But that's harder to do right now, because the Packers only have 5 CBs (or 5.5+ if you count Hyde) on the roster (in the past the minimum has always been 6). And the top two are injured at the moment. Also Banjo is injured and Goodson did have good ST play in the past.

For Pennel, I think it's a lot easier... just release DL Ringo or Price... earlier in the season they went with Ringo over Price and very well might do that again, especially since Pennel bring more run stuffing and Ringo add more pass rush, a good combo that could go well together.


I guess Wilde said he thinks Abbrederis could be one of the guys cut for Pennel/Goodson... as he's not being used as much and the Packers have high depth there with 7 WRs.

One wild thought I had, was to maybe save some cash and release Peppers (if the Packers would save a lot of money doing that) and letting the other OLBers step up into Peppers shoes some... which they seem to be doing a good job of. Of course I believe Peppers has also been playing a different role on the inside at times, kind of like an athletic DL... but hopefully between Datone, Pennel and Ringo (and maybe just maybe Lowry), they can step up and fill that role. Also assuming they save money, then resign Perry and Datone to long term deals.

Sounds like Cobb is saying he think he's fine, but the doctors are making him check it out like they forced Rip to check it out after he had his back injury.

I'm hoping Shields is close to returning... though we never know.

Cook and Banjo are also injured.

And there is always the possibility they could cut one of the six S to get Goodson back on the roster.

Cut the punter and just throw a 30 yard int on 4th down, basically the same thing we've been getting now.

True, but is that only salary or salary and cap space? Because even if the Packers have to pay Peppers, I not sure about the cap space under that odd veteran clause... there are some other odd veteran clauses that count for salary for not cap space (like vet min.)

As Beast says, One is easy: Cut Price for Pennell.

For Goodson here’s the options:
• Cut Goodson
• Cut Ringo [though he might get snatched] if Guion is healthy; dont see us using 3 of the rostered
DLman anymore.
• Cut Evans
• Cut Abby or Davis
• Put one longer term injury guy on IR; but it’ll be 8 weeks for him to return

Cut Callahan. If someone sniffs we can pay him min salary. If he is stupid enough to go elsewhere then he’s too dumb to be a GB QB anyway. His best chance for success is to learn to be a QB in GB.

I think Peppers is valuable for 250 good snaps and leadership. Plus no cap or coin can be saved by his cut. Plus we might get a comp pick if someone pays him something next year. Ya know after he gets 12 sacks and 40 hurries for us 😁.

Exempt them both until the 17th and then decide.
