Randall Cobb was active and Aaron Rodgers says he didn't understand the status of Randall Cobb. This was referring to Cobb not playing until the last few drives of the game. I could be reading too much into this, but it sure seems like Rodgers is saying WTF coach, why don't you use Cobb if he's active. What do you folks think?

Here's his press conference. It's a good nine minutes to listen to and you'll see he is the leader of the team. Rodgers is not the problem, but he has to (unfair to even ask this) do more for the team.

What difference would Cobb have made? Rodgers kept chucking up long pass, none of which connected.

Packers win this game if they just concentrated on moving the chains instead of whiffing on home run passes. Just terrible football acumen, and that's on Rodgers. He makes those decisions. Packers should have never been down as far as they were.

Cobb is probably still injured and that's why was sitting.

I just don't understand why this team can't use hitch n go routes and slant routes more with quick passes.

Also, last gripe I have on Rodgers here, if you watch him, you can actually see him hesitate! He'll see a receiver and it's like he has a damn hiccup or something and flinches. Then ... scrambles. JUST THROW THE DAMN BALL!!

What Aaron needs is his coach to grow a pair of balls and tell him to take what is there, take what the defense is giving you.

Same with the GM to an extent.

I think these players and coaches are all adults and if they can't handle another speaking their mind they need to find a new line of work. What is the other option, the same PC press conferences that nothing is said that they get criticized for also.

Personally I don't know what Mike told Rodgers and the Team. But I doubt this comment was a planned shot at McCarthy, more realistic it was just what Rodgers was feeling whether valid or not.

I again look back to Brett. In the beginning, when Favre had Sharpe, he would lock in on him, it wasn't until after Sharpe retired that Brett really learned how to spread the ball to any WR. Rodgers was able to do that in the beginning because of the receivers he had across the board. It was easy to have confidence in Jennings, Driver, Jones, Jordy. Even as the depth changed Rodgers was still spreading the ball around only have Boykin and Adams and others not make the plays, which has diminished Rodgers confidence. We can see that Adams has earned that confidence back.

McCarthy isn't making the confidence building any easier by the plays he calls. I am still seeing far to many WR running patters 10-15 yards deep. There should be 1 maybe 2 deep routes in a play depending on formation. run a slant from the slot if not open, the slant will vacate the area for the outside receiver to run an incut. Richard Rodgers isn't the most dynamic but he catches the ball. Put him on the Chumura 10yard stop route up the seam pushing the LBers and Saftety deep to open space for WR to get YAC>

Time and time again, it opened up a crossing route which Driver loved. I know he's not a TE... but I've been wanting to try the same thing with Janis at TE. Use his speed to threaten right up the middle... I would think both Safeties would pause a bit because of Janis great speed and one of them would go deep with him and it could open up other routes (even if you don't throw it to Janis)... I don't know if this would work, but I just always wanted to see Mike McCarthy try it.

And no... Janis isn't a TE... but when it comes to planned blocking Janis has been a physical WR blocker, which might be the same a poor blocking TE in Richard Rodgers.

It could totally fail, but it could also catch the defense completely off guard in how they handle a small speed TE barrelling straight down field... at the very least, would make some pause and not get over to the other WRs as quickly giving them more time to work.
