TE has me concerned. Will the FA's we got make the big plays Cook made last year?

And will the RB position take some pressure of Rodgers? If you have a running game that keeps the defense honest, that can pay off HUGE in your passing game.

John Kosko in Pro Football Focus said that going into TC , GB's greatest need is :

"Green Bay Packers – Inside linebacker

The Packers still have plenty of question marks on defense, but they at least addressed the nickel safety and cornerback positions in the draft and free agency. Inside linebacker still remains the team’s biggest need, as Ted Thompson just doesn’t seem to value the position very highly despite the lack of production from the players getting thrown out there to do the job. Instead, Green Bay added three HBs and two WRs to an offense that will need depth once Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb start declining. For now, Packers fans will hope for improvement from Jake Ryan and Blake Martinez."

I fully agree !

Can't fill every hole. At some point you have to hope your guys naturally progress year after year.

There are other battles that players face in Training Camp besides their performance on the field. Some will battle to learn a new playbook and system. Others will fight the battle of the waistline. Still others will be striving to recover from injuries .

I'm not sure if there are/will be any contract battles, but that sometimes happens .

This year , who gets cut may be more interesting than who makes the final roster .

With increased numbers competing for roster spots at WR, and TE, and LB, and CB, GB's QB's will see an increase in their workload this TC. Aaron Rodgers will not be overworked, but the back-up QB's will be called upon to service the the on-field offence/defense battles.

I'M ALREADY READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL !

GB's roster currently contains the names of 8 players that hope to make the 2017 team at the RB / FB positions. Those players names are as follow :

33 - Aaron Jones - R - RB
32 - Devante Mays - R -RB
88 - TY Montgomery - 3 - RB
34 - Kalif Phillips - R - RB
43 - William Stanback - R - RB
30 - Jamaal Williams - R -RB
22 - Aaron Ripkowski - 3 - FB
40 - Joe Kerridge - 2 - FB

Who will make the final roster or not remains to be a most curious training camp battle indeed .

I think that if the Packers can put up someone opposite CM3, maybe it will make Clay play decent once again.
With no pass rush on the other side, he was pretty much held under control, as offenses could key on him knowing they didn't have to worry much about the other side of the line.

Mucky Tundra (23-Apr) : is Aiyuk worth a 1st rounder?
Zero2Cool (23-Apr) : 49ers are seeking a 1st round pick in exchange for WR Brandon Aiyuk
Mucky Tundra (22-Apr) : Based on Gutes comments, now I don't feel as silly having 13 picks in my mock the other day
Zero2Cool (22-Apr) : Zach Wilson to Broncos.

beast (21-Apr) : Sometimes looking extremely amazing, sometimes looking extremely lost
beast (21-Apr) : I haven't looked into the QBs, but some have suggested Maye has some of the most extremely inconsistent tape they've seen
beast (21-Apr) : Well it also sounds like Patriots are listening to trade offers, not that seriously considering any, but listening means they aren't locked
Zero2Cool (21-Apr) : Maye needs to be AFC
Mucky Tundra (21-Apr) : Not liking the idea of the Vikings getting Maye
Zero2Cool (21-Apr) : Vikings HC joked that he may or may not have sent flowers to Bob Kraft. That's where rumor came from.
