I don't get up for anything less than a first, two seconds, and a third, young man.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Denzel Ward has roughly the same measureables as Sam Shields? I think the fact the Packers have a bigger starting CB they can afford to draft a smaller one. Let King cover the taller WR and let Ward cover the speedsters.

Denzel Ward will be off the board before the Packers 14th pick. However, there is a good chance that Joshua Jackson the CB from Iowa will be. At 6'-0" and 196 lbs he has long arms (32.75") and big hands too (9.75). He also ran a respectable 4.56 sec. 40 yd dash.

Joshua Jackson - CB - Iowa, my choice for GBs 1st pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

[cheers]

Darone Payne DT Alabama.
Slides right into rotation.
Shore up your D-line, the rest will follow .

I'll go a round further and say The Packers trade up to grab Billy Price G/C Ohio State.
Fills 2 needs, backup C and starting RG.

Now if one of these top 10 players . That have been talked about were to drop to The Packers, then you take them.

You can't draft for need, when you don't know what your needs are.

I think defensive line is the only part of the defense that needs no additions, if the Packers draft Darone Payne or Vea they must be rated very highly. Neither one would likely be anything but a 1st down run stuffer rotation guy their first year or two. Seems like a luxury pick more than a necessity.

If they drafted D-Line at #14 then traded up from #45 to draft a right guard I'd be less than impressed. Big holes at CB/EDGE/WR and we invest our biggest assets into a position of strength (DL) and a devalued position (RG).

I find the whole process interesting. Fans and the media love to project who will be taken by which team. And I don't have a problem with that. It's like watching kids shake their Christmas presents and trying to guess what's in the box. (Granted socks, underwear and the like are a little easier to guess.)

None of us know what the Packers Big Board looks like. No one knows how many QBs will be taken prior to the 14th pick. I personally hope 10 QBs and 3 RBs are taken. 😎 Of course that's not going to happen.

With the anticipated run on QBs I am expecting someone who is Top 10 talent to fall to GB.

I will be happy with a quality CB. A real pass rushing OLB not a tweener who isn't big enough to be a DE and not fast enough to be a LB. I would even take the top WR, OG or OT if available.

I am a little concerned if Minkah Fitzpatrick is still available and they try to convert him from S to CB. Here's another area where GB has tried to use tweeners without out a whole lot of success. Perhaps it will work for him.

Perhaps the vikies or bares can make it a little more entertaining by being late for the 1st round selection and having someone else take their pick.

It's about time to cue up the movie Draft Day. [pinkele]
