Bears sign S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix (1 year, $3.5 million): A++ Grade

This is EXACTLY what I was talking about earlier when I said that teams were irresponsible for spending tons of early-free agency money on safeties. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is every bit as good as some of the high-priced safety signings from earlier in the week, yet the Bears got him at a fraction of the price.

I found this to be unbelievable. How could the Bears get Ha Ha Clinton-Dix for just $3.5 million in 2019 when some of the other similar-caliber safeties are set to make eight figures per year? It's insane.

This is the best signing of the offseason right now, and it's not even close. I was going to write, "If I gave out A++ grades, this would earn it." Well, this is my Web site, and I can damn well give out an A++ if I want to. The Bears are getting an A++ for this absolutely absurd signing.

The difference the other safeties had multiple options and the bidding drove up the price. It's telling that this is the best deal haha could get.

Yeah lol the reason they only had to pay him 3.5 mil isn't because they were smart for waiting it's because he's not acutally similar quality to the other guys that got signed. That's not a bad deal though it's probably about what he's worth.

The NFL’s No. 1 pass defense last year is adding some depth to the secondary.

If he was so great we would not have traded him for a 4th round pick and the Redskins would have tried to resign him. For 3.5 million it's not a bad signing for the Bears as they need someone to replace Amos and I don't think he is as bad as some fans try to make him out to be but all in all I'd rather have Amos for what we are paying than Ha Ha for what the Bears are paying.

Dude played like a pussy in hopes of staying healthy so he didn't screw up his big pay day. So much for that. What will he do this year? Learn from his mistakes or do it all over again?

They got Haha at a great price point... and reportedly took a smaller offer to go there.

What Haha (or his agent) want is to set them up for next year FA by getting with the best pass rush/defense they could. (and maybe rejoining his college S buddy).

The big down side for the Packers is that Haha might know tells of Rodgers or Adams that could stay will the Bears team for a while even if Haha doesn't.

Also, fact is Washington traded a 4th for him, then benched him before the season was over, and then chose not to offer him even 3 million dollars to return, after they had just traded a 4th to get him! Does that not tell you something about his play? Come on man...

Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : It's like listen, you made 4,201 mocks, no shit.
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : Cuz during the draft "I had them mocked there!" as if it's amazing.
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : They're fun to do once in awhile. It's people who think they are "content" that annoy me.
dfosterf (27-Mar) : Against tbd
dfosterf (27-Mar) : Answer to your question is yes, it's a Thursday, will be the Chiefs aga
dfosterf (27-Mar) : Luckily for all concerned, I don't post them. I did one, but that was like 25 mocks ago

Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : Ugh... kids these days!
dfosterf (27-Mar) : I'm gonna go do some more mock draft hell instead 🤪
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : Did we do one of those prediction threads yet for 2024 season?
dfosterf (27-Mar) : In my city, they are playing the nimby game, in order to keep some railroad tracks vs. 2 professional sports teams and a concert venue.
dfosterf (27-Mar) : And/Or a city council, of which I haven't seen a good one in a very long time
dfosterf (27-Mar) : That sounds like a Mayor, not a city.
buckeyepackfan (26-Mar) : Packers halt scheduled 80mil upgrade of stadium until lease agreement talks are restarted
Zero2Cool (26-Mar) : City of Green Bay puts Packers' Lambeau Field lease talks on hold
buckeyepackfan (26-Mar) : Packers 1 of 3 teams to vote no on new kickoff rule.

Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Shouldn't be penalized cuz official screwed up
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Yeah, challenge until you are incorrect twice.
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Fining them is the goal, per the people who made the rule anyway.
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still waiting on the kickoff rule changes. Did hear yesterday that the touchback proposal will now be the 30 yard line, not the 35
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Probably speed of game issues with your proposal
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Hopefully the refs don't get in the habit of throwing flags on this
beast (25-Mar) : I think when it comes to Challenges should get two strikes, so unlimited challenges as long as they keep winning them, but 2 wrong then done
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still subject to the fines etc
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Yes, I should have been more specific. Also, they are now saying it would be a 15 yard penalty. That makes more sense .
beast (25-Mar) : Simply fined in the week to follow
