Yep, and had Rodgers lead him on that throw, MVS probably scores the game-winning TD. It was a little underthrown and he did a good job coming back and finding it in triple coverage. That's a difficult throw out of the end zone though. Without that play, it's much less likely it goes to OT. I feel some would be happier with MVS if he drops that pass and the game ends at 31-28.

Terrible timing on the fumble of course, but with 257 yards and 3TDs over the last three weeks, it's hard to say MVS is a major problem for the team. An inconsistent player, for sure. But that's as far as I would go. MVS had a really good play, followed by a really bad play. It happens.

I really feel like he's not used to it, or he's okay with settling for just a good deep throw, instead of a great deep throw (which is good for most QBs, but he has greatness in him). There have been a good number of throws, where if Rodgers his MVS in stride (assuming MVS catches it), it's a foot race to the end zone. But he's had to wait on a heck of a lot of passes. Where Rodgers pridefully nailed Adams and Lazard.

It is very easy place blame on a player or a coach, but we all know they are not the entire story by far. Defensive players can play their guts out for a win, but can still loose to better opposing players.

If one takes the time to look, the All-Time best NFL Defenses had great personnel. The "Steel Curtin" of the Steelers, Dallas's "Doomsday" Defense, the "85" Bears, the Rams "Fearsome Foursome", and others were filled with players that found their way to Canton, Ohio. GB needs to get better defensive players if they are to be true SB contenders. It is and always will be true that:

Offense wins games, but Defense wins Championships.

The offense inability to gain even a first down during that whole time is what cost us the game. Not the MVS fumble.

If you want to get off the field... STOP THEM!!!

What Frank Reich and the Colts, and likely the rest of the league, woke up to is that we can't stop the run. In the 3rd quarter, they ran the ball on 9 consecutive plays!!! To illustrate, the play selection

To add further injury to insult...literally, IIRC a couple of their O line got dinged up and they were playing with back-ups.

The offense can't do a helluvalot about 10 play and 12 play drives

Let's take a step back, have a little more perspective, and recognize the biggest problem.

How many turnovers today? 7? 5? And we still took this team to OT at their house.

Absolutely this is a good team. They just need to pull their heads out of their asses.

Maybe make adjustments at halftime.

And only 3 of those points were in the second half.
I’m not blaming the loss on the offense, just stating the fact that they did nothing in the second half to help our lousy defense.
They KNOW our D sucks, and we’re on the field almost the entire second half.
We all know it’s up to our offense to win games. If they have to depend on our defense, most likely it will end up as a loss. (Unless they are playing against a real lousy team).
Yes, the offense isn’t at fault for the D allowing long drives. But when they DO get the ball, 3 and outs will be a disaster for this team.
They had chances to do something, and did nothing till the last drive of regulation.
They have to carry the load.....unfortunately.

it is not a reasonable expectation for the offense to score every time, or almost every time they have the ball.

If the defense wants to get off the field, they can stop them just like the other team stops us.

D doesn’t suck, imo. They're just mediocre against the run. Far as I'm concerned they haven't cost us a game yet. Not to jinx, of course.

Returning to this threads original subject, I'm confident that ball security was a high priority in practice this week. With the Bears coming to Lambeau, ball security is a must.

Cold will most likely play a role in this game, gloves should be standard equipment for this battle.
