Although I am not a MOD, or have any connection with this site, I would be interested why all of you come here?

I would love to know why the regulars post here, read here, and vent here. What makes you tick, why here at Packers Home?

I AM ESPECIALLY INTERESTED IN THE ANSWERES FROM PEOPLE WHO LOG ON REGULARLY, READ, AND NEVER POST. I KNOW THERE ARE A TON OF YOU!

GO AHEAD AND MAKE YOUR FIRST POST.

Is it the people or members posts that make you respond? Is it the thread content and education? Is it because you have been to other packer sites and it was not as well run?

Is it because you love some of the naysayers and love reading their conviction of how the Packers "Suck"?

Is it because you have no life and have been spanking the monkey all day on porn sites and just needed a little NFL Packer Talk this off season?

Be candid.

Like I said.... I am not affiliated with this site...

I just am a very inquisitive guy. Some times I just need answers to thoughts that burst into my mind.

Wow......HEAVY post R.P!!!

Me.......as you know, i was on that "other" site when it kind of went nuts. So when Zero told me of this place, i figured I'd check it out. Been here ever since.
Me, i have several reasons i come here. I have alot of people that i have met here (and on that other site) and i consider them friends. And except for a few, this is my only way of connecting with them.
I enjoy the interaction with people. Even those i don't agree with. And i DO take and look at everything fairly before i make up my mind on what to think.
Sometimes, people here have made me change my stance on some things, because of their posts. Other times, what some have posted have made me get behind what i feel is right even more.
Plus..........i think everyone should get their daily balance of "Cheesying", and how else can they get it if I'm not here??? :thumbleft:

I enjoy the camaraderie between Packer fans in this forum. Most, if not all of the posters here are entertaining and insightful. It's rare in forums unfortunately.

And although it's refreshing to hear differing opinions, sometimes after a long day's work/uni I just want to relax and cheer up on some positive news from my favourite sports team. Some of the forums which are less moderated, like in JS Online tend to have constant bickering between people which isn't very nice to read all the time.

Because "Vikerules" posts here and I need a good laugh every day!!!!

And of course it's the best packer forum bar none.

I don't take anything I say or post on here seriously and I believe the majority of people on here are like minded.

And the streaming, don't forget that.

Like cheesey, I started at that "other" site, and ended up here when it went down. I enjoy the give and take of Packers fans....even when I disagree with them....provided they do so in a respectful way.

Although I have never met any of you folks except ToPacker, I have a feeling of knowing some of you who have been around a while. Great camaraderie......

I've been asking myself the same question lately. We have over 1500 members. That's not too bad for a site that doesn't do any advertising or anything like that.

I originally came here because I have lots of idea's for web design and I needed to explore them. I figured what better way than to make a Packers website. It combined two of my hobbies. Another reason was the NFL didn't like me having my video's on YouTube. I was advised if I hosted them on a non profit website that they could turn the other way. It all just added up.

We had a few good members posting here, talking Packers with me. Then one day. PF took the dump of website hell when we were at 359 members and one month later we were at 581 with more posts than I could keep up with. Now we're about 9 months later and sitting at 1525 ... seems pretty crazy to me. I never seen this coming.

It's pretty cool having you all here and posting and reading. Thank you.

I also came here from PF and some other forums. This is a good Packer site and I like to read and talk about the Packers. The forums are set up very nicely. It's fun to keep up on the "latest" and nice to get a little scoop from the people around GB because I grew up not to far from there and I know there are are always rumors going around about the Pack. Some of then are even true.LOL

Also, the people here seems to respect people's other points of view. Members are pretty knowledgeable which makes for a better discussion. The personal attacks are minimal.

Of course, a little "Cheeseyness" helps bighten my day. Best of health to you my forum friend.

Great site, keep up the good work.

Also, it's hard to neglect the simplicity of the forum design. It just feels cosy and accessible. Some are either too generic or very cumbersome.

It is kinda like cheers the bar. Lots of discussion, differing views, but for the most part, everyone respects each other and their opinions. And when one is in need, everyone puts downs their differeing views and comes to the rescue of the one in need. Family.

I like it alot to a neighborhood bar where JSonline is like the big hip hop club in a big city. The neighborhood bar all get along for the most part and become knowledgable of each others personal life. The Hip hop club is purely a collection of individuals there for a similar taste and no personalization. And because of that, it is much easier to diss each other and have fights break out because there is no caring of other individual.

Also, if you have ever noticed, in a neighborhood bar, when a rebel comes in and gives one of the regulars or the owner/bartender a hard time, ALL the other regulars jump to his aid and get rid of the rebel(troll).

cheers!

I also jumped here from the other site when it went all jets colors.

This is my one stop shop for latest Packer news. You guys are on top of things when it comes to finding the latest Packer info!

It was also nice to get away from some of the ***** firsters that were rushing in on the other site at the time.

A lot of like minded Packer fans came here so the decision to move was a no brainer. :thumbleft:

Question: Can anybody tell me why the forum appears to be white and blue to me? I have a feeling it really doesn't look like this cause I believe it's Green and Gold when I'm not logged in. Also, when clicking the forum button from the main page, it brings up another window for the forum. This all started happening to me at the same time months ago. The extra window I can deal with, but the colors have got to go if it's an option.

It might be one of your forum account settings, so have a look at that and maybe default it. I'm still seeing the familiar green and gold scheme that I've always seen here.

I first came here to watch the live streams since I live in Indiana I never get to watch the Pack unless they are on national tv. But, I read the forums daily in my computer class and I definitely learn a lot from what people say.

It seems like most people here are pretty intelligent and there are some great posters that have a comedic gift.

I used to frequent the JSonline forum, then when that shut down it seemed like most of the good posters migrated over to packerforum.com(or here and i just didnt know about it). When that site went down the toilet i found out about this place, and have been checking pretty much every day since.

There are a lot of people who are very knowledgable here, really know what they are talking about and very few actual trolls(jsonline and PF were FILLED with them). So i've been really happy with the site. I only post on occasion, generally because i dont have the same level of football knowledge as some of you guys here, so i dont often have anything of value to add.

Usually when i open my web browser in the morning, i open a tab with PH, Jsonline, and profootballtalk to check for the latest discussion/news/rumors.

I came across another site sometime a couple years back - mostly I wanted to get some information on the Packers, because in Minneapolis it's not easy to come by (shocking, huh?). Then that place went down and some nice person (I forget who, apologies to that person) tipped me to this place.

By and large, I still come here mostly for some extra information, possibly an inside scoop or two, and just to see what other Packers fans are thinking. I got sucked into the Favre thing last year, and I'm a little embarrassed that that's what got me posting, but I would say without question that the endless arguments and debates about No. 4 are my least favorite aspect of the site. Still, it's reality - to be a Packers fan in 2009 is to be a part of a community that's bitterly divided, and I guess to an extent I come here to see how bad that rift is on any given day.

I've not gone to a ton of Packer boards to compare, but it seems as if there's a larger proportion of knowledgeable folks here, which is a plus for me. Even the "haters" like DHazer and DD80 know what the hell they're talking about, even if I sometimes wish they'd use that intelligence for something other than documenting how crappy our GM is. Still, I'd rather read intelligent criticism than simple sour grapes.

I don't think of myself as a "regular" here or anyone who contributes much - in my mind I'm still a lurker who occasionally posts an opinion or asks a question. I do very much appreciate that there's a place to go to be in a community of other Packers fans, definitely, so thanks to all who work to keep this place afloat.

Actually I too was at the "other" website and followed everyone over here.

I like the members there is a good mix of levity and information passed out here.
I have an account set up at a different sight that will remain nameless. *cough* P@-k-r Ch@t-rs *cough*. While they have excellent posters over there as well, I find some of their posts to be rather long dissertations. I just don't have the time to read a 800 word post and all the replies to why GB should mow the grass north and south instead of east and west.

I come here not because our posters are less informed, they just seem to get to the point a little quicker.

Unlike others who will post on several sites I wanted only one place to call home. I spend a little time on a baseball site and a college basketball site as well.

Some sites allow a lot of trash talking. I don't want to deal with that. I don't mind people having a difference of opinion but I hate it when name calling runs the site. Kevin and the mods do an excellent job of keeping this to a minimum.
And of course we have the Cheese Meister here. Alas if he were only exclusive to us.

First and foremost I am a football addict.. I swear I have a little pigskin DNA embedded within me.

The reason I spend my time here for the most part is first and foremost the members here.. from the diehard football posters to the blended ones that speak about football and everything else.

I am an observer of personalities outside of the web.. and apply that here.. much like RP's comment.. I absorb what makes people tick and how they apply that to football and discussions.. from the hyper to the mellow.. the passive to the aggressive.. it is much like the X's and O's within the game.. the game within the game.

The board and layout are organized and maintained well.. but it is the members that make it tick and stay breathing..

In the world outside of the net, I am generally on the reserved side, observing more so.. here I am somewhat the opposite.. mainly because I can learn about people and speak as well and it revolves around football.. it is my personal nirvana.

go.pack.go. (3h) : Price will depend on how big the tree is, liability that it includes such as threatening a house, building, fence, etc
go.pack.go. (3h) : I am a procurement forester but I help with tree work on the side from time to time. Learned all about it in college and whatnot
go.pack.go. (3h) : No more tree of course
go.pack.go. (3h) : Tree removal is very expensive, and yes tree companies should remove the tree from your property all together and leave your place looking as if they weren’t even there. Except for there being no more
Zero2Cool (5h) : I wasn't expecting it to be cheap. I was thinking the three in front maybe ~1,500 but i could buy a stump grinder for that.
dfosterf (5h) : It's not going to be cheap. Certified arborists make good money. You cannot do A or E without one. If D fell on the house it looks like it would be no big deal, but the picture might be fooling me.
Zero2Cool (5h) : I have a feeling these trees being removed gonna cost me lot more than I was bargaining
Zero2Cool (5h) : I haven't had much issue ever will drills. I have a pretty firm grip. BUT I also haven't had a chainsaw in my hand while trying to balance on a ladder
Zero2Cool (5h) : Hmm, maybe I just use my sawsall to cut it down. I'll be back in four months.
dfosterf (5h) : Ever had a drill get stuck in the work and twist your hand? Exact same speed as a chainsaw kickback. I don't think even batman dodges that.
Zero2Cool (5h) : WTF is the dark knight doing cutting down dudes trees!!!!
Zero2Cool (5h) : Not a worry, I'll wear my Batman suit!! Imagine the photos!!
dfosterf (5h) : Oh oh, lol Chainsaw accidents average 80 stitches in the emergency room according to the US Forest service. 🤣
Zero2Cool (5h) : holy crap, you can rent a 35 ft lift for $300 for a whole day??
Zero2Cool (6h) : I'll post pictures. One of them is probably 50 feet tall
dfosterf (6h) : I'm sure when he gets his estimates they will render opinions on his plan
dfosterf (6h) : Or dumped, depending on the truck
dfosterf (6h) : Thing is, if he's hiring a tree service, my guess is we are talking some big trees. That shit usually gets craned on and off the chipper shredder truck.
beast (6h) : That's why some wooden ramps can be nice. And heck, you got the wood with the tree. Turn it into a ramp, wheel barrow the rest onto the truck 😋
dfosterf (6h) : I don't know the diameters you'd be dealing with, but tree sections are almost invariably a hell of a lot heavier than they look
Zero2Cool (7h) : Eh, that's not right. It's more like three an half feet. Still sucks loading things into it.
Zero2Cool (7h) : Damn tailgate is almost four feet above ground.
Zero2Cool (7h) : Considering there's no way in hell I can lift something much longer into my damn truck, shouldn't be problem!
Zero2Cool (7h) : Wood must be cut to 4-foot sections to be accepted at the Waste Transfer Station.
Mucky Tundra (7h) : Zero2Stumped
Cheesey (7h) : Sounds like ZERO is....STUMPED! LOL!
Zero2Cool (7h) : Basically cost of cutting tree x,y and z individually, and cost of stump grinding per tree and clean up haha
Zero2Cool (7h) : I have stump grinding listed too as question. I feel kinda bad cuz I got like five quotes I want haha
dfosterf (7h) : Don't forget about the stump. That you can diy, but stump grinders are expensive to rent. They are a bit of a beast to operate, too.
Zero2Cool (7h) : Ugh. I'm so damn ignorant on this stuff!! Thanks for the heads up.
dfosterf (8h) : Some of the municipality dumps that accept tree debris have a maximum diameter that they will accept, so you might want to check on that before deciding on who is taking the tree
Zero2Cool (8h) : Packers announce Family Night will be held August 5th
Zero2Cool (8h) : I'm not sure what to expect, never did this before and first place comes today for estimate. I just compiling list of questions haha
dfosterf (9h) : Kidding aside, you sure they aren't coming back for it? Maybe went to get the chipper shredder?
dfosterf (9h) : Unless you hired the tree cut down and left company, which we don't have in our yellow pages 🙃
dfosterf (9h) : Well, it's called tree removal, so you'd think removal would at least be part of the conversation 😉
Zero2Cool (9h) : Looks like there's a public works spot near me that I can just dump it at. That might save me a few bucks
Zero2Cool (9h) : When you have a tree removed, do they commonly take the tree or is that on you?
dfosterf (10h) : I missed those comments. Curious as to what Bakhtiari said...
Zero2Cool (11h) : Sean Rhyan seems to have been raw deal with what got him suspended. At least, based on David Bakhtiari's comments. Too soon to really know about the kid yet
go.pack.go. (12h) : Dfoster, what’s wrong with Tucker Kraft?
go.pack.go. (12h) : Cheesey, yes I’ve been extremely busy lol
dfosterf (4-Jun) : Slip a kid standing outside the stadium 20 bucks and let him make the pick going forward. That collective obviously cannot.
dfosterf (4-Jun) : By any reasonable criteria to date, Sean Rhyan was the worst pick in the 3rd round last year
dfosterf (4-Jun) : Thus far, out front office failed yet again in the 3rd round of the draft.
Cheesey (4-Jun) : Gopackgo, I'm sure you are more then a little busy!😁
go.pack.go. (4-Jun) : Thanks everyone who congratulated me! Sorry I haven’t been on in a few days and I’m just now seeing the responses
Cheesey (2-Jun) : Kevin, you got it! They won't feel as bad about themselves! "Hey Ma! Ain't they losers? And you thought WE was bad!!!"
Cheesey (2-Jun) : Kevin on "The View". ..."Kevin, are you a right wing or left wing? ANSWER THE QUESTION!!!" Kevin:"I'm a CHICKEN wing!"🤪
