Lets see.. 5th year pro out of FSU... Florida State baby.. contended for the Outland trophy in college and has experience at LT.. whats more.. he can be obtained for a 2nd?

That might be attractive for the Packers and Thompson.. a solid player at a premium position for a 2nd..

Rams ready to part ways with Alex Barron
Posted by Michael David Smith on March 1, 2010 10:40 AM ET
St. Louis offensive tackle Alex Barron started all 16 games last year for the Rams. But the team may be ready to part ways with him.

Barron, who has five years of NFL experience, is set to become a restricted free agent. And Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the Rams informed Barron's agents Sunday night that they will be asking for only second-round draft pick compensation when they turn their tender offers into the league office this week.

Basically, even though the Rams are entitled to get first-round compensation for Barron, they want the rest of the league to know that Barron is available and that they'd be happy to take a second-round draft pick for him.

The Rams expect Jason Smith, last year's second overall draft pick, to be this year's starter at left tackle. And rather than play Barron at right tackle, they'd like to look elsewhere for a right tackle, and pick up an extra second-round pick.

I just read that, too, although I don't think it'd take a 2nd to get him and I would hope Ted wouldn't dig that deep with all the o-line talent in this year's draft class.

I'd give up a 4th for him, though - maybe even a third. Had 7 false-starts last year and gave up 2.5 sacks.

PFF grades for 2009

You should have NEVER let me see that site, lol lol lol

Wade and Foster want a graph like this

OK- I'm messin' with ya, but it would sure be nice to have a good one, even though that is looking a lot like hitting the lottery.

It depends on the film I guess. Keep in mind his QB has been Marc Bulger. Of all QBs who have joined the NFL since 2000 only David Carr has been sacked more times than Bulger.

Let's break it down a bit here. The guy was a first round pick and has played for the Rams. If the other four players on your line suck, you probably won't end up looking much better unless you're extremely talented. Plus if your team has lost (badly) ever since you got there your motivation level might be pretty low. All I'm saying is being on the Rams might have held this guy back a bit.

Now I personally would say it's risky to throw a 2nd round pick for this guy but who knows, a change of scenery might help him out a little bit. It's done the same for other players careers.

I'll admit I don't know anything about Barron though, I'm just speculating. 🙂

Alex Barron was probably the worst player on their line, PFT says he might be released soon. The interior of their line is actually quite decent.

Mucky Tundra (3-Apr) : Diggs, Collins, Dell and Schultz is gonna be tough to cover
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Stefon Diggs' trade will not be processed as a post-June 1 designation, so that is just over $31 million in dead cap this year.
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Bills trading WR Stefon Diggs to the Texans in exchange for a 2025 2nd-round pick. (via @rapsheet)
