Green Bay has to be the laughing stock of the league with regard to their punting woes.

2. While most college football isn't played in cold weather I like him over some of the other punters who played for Fresno, East Carolina or V Tech.

Sorry, but you are wrong here. Va Tech plays in some very bad weather. You may not realize it, but it gets very cold here in VA in the winter. They play in 20 degree weather sometimes, and it rains / snows VERY often in Blacksburg (where they are located).

So Brent Bowden would be a great selection as well. He has experience in bad weather.

G.P.G,

I don't want to argue with you. I was not trying to be critical of V Tech.

Even though they can have a cold game now and then, they are not what I would consider a true "cold weather team".

4 games in Sept. The high is 75 in Sept. The Low is 51. Avg for Sept is 63.
4 games in Oct. High 65. Low 38. Avg 43.
4 games in Nov High 55 Low 31 Avg 43.

Most games are Saturday afternoons. So you are not looking at the lows. You are looking most often at the high temps. Even if they have one "cold game" a year, that would not make them a cold weather team. But that is my opinion. And since they did not draft him, it doesn't really matter.
I looked at the temps in the box score for their last 3 home games for the last 3 years.

2009 60, 54, 53
2008 61, 29, 42
2007 52, 45, 50

This of course does not include the rain or wind factors.

Works for me. I am ready to move on. I wish they would have drafted someone of quality to be the punter.

Quinn Porter punts. (One of our UDFA's)

It would be beyond cool if he won that job, lol.

How many punters have you seen that can do other things...

He can run a little. He averaged over 6 yards a carry.

Oh, he can also return a kickoff on occasion...

He returned 10 of them last year. He averaged 39.8 yards.

Two of them were for touchdowns.

Not bad for a punter.

(I'm only kidding, he was picked up as RB and a kick returner candidate---

but HE REALLY CAN punt also)---

Probably will not hear about it, but watch the vid in the link...That's right, that's him punting---

dfosterf (18-Apr) : Kidding aside, I hope the best for him.
