how bout Allen saying

Jared Allen also had a bit to say. "Hopefully, I can put my helmet square in the back of his spine."

What does that have anything to do with an illegal late or low hit? Nothing? Ok then.

It's obvious you never played on the defensive side of the football. We talked about killing the ballcarrier. Yes. KILLING him. We are all murderous wretches.

BTW.. I am more bitter about Jared Allen's knee shots on Schaub than any of this Brett saga drama nonsense..

Yes shots on a Texan QB.. lol.

"DakotaT" wrote:

You and Dakota should form a therapy group. Not for his apparent attempt at ending Schaub's life, but the double standard for cheap shots at a QBs knees (shitting bricks when Allen gives a dirty hit, but not a peep when Favre gets them throughout an entire game)

:thumbright:

If 93 and I start a group, it isn't going to be for therapy, it is gonna be a gang designated to convert dilusional Viking fans into reasonable Viking fans by any means necessary. Guess what slapnuts, you get invitation #1. Got your Ritchie Blackmore glasses all cleaned for the season, I see.

If Favre gets taken out this season, he has more than earned the anger of the player delivering the hit. I have said over and over that I do not want to see Brett carted off. Brett is our Prodigal brother - he has been lost for several years now, but when he finally returns we will accept him back.

I was hoping to draw you out of hiding.

Also would like to let you know that you won't find a more reasonable Viking fan than myself. There's a lot like me, but I have yet to meet a guy that's more objective than myself.

Just because you and 93z have a romanticized 'Camelot' vision of the game of football, doesn't mean that's how it was meant to be played.

Never said it did?

I said how about him saying it

Meaning is it okay for him to say that (given the fact no one has really ever said that in print before) at least not that I seen

That ties into the whole illegal hit and such

Ted and Mike both stopped at Brett's home while on their way to a scouting shindig.

"Zero2Cool" wrote:

But they still stopped there. That's my point. Obviously they weren't giving Favre the keys to the Packers organization.. So why is the view of Chilly going to Mississippi (I hate spelling that name, BTW) indicitive of him handing the keys to the Vikings organization?

"Formo" wrote:

I didn't say it was, nor do I think it is.

I wasn't implying that you thought so. I was saying in general.

The entire scope of everything the Vikings are doing ... I think is giving too much power to Brett.

View it from one of the other 52 men in the locker room.

"Zero2Cool" wrote:

The entire scope of what the Vikings are doing and have done is under the banner of lets get to the Super Bowl.. AT ALL COSTS. I can't blame them. This is the most proactive team I remember seeing at getting to the big game in my lifetime, so I'm obvioiusly 100% ok with it.

I honestly think people are losing it if they think the players in the locker room are unhappy with how the teams being run ATM. They know the costs as well.. Just look at the age of some of those guys.. P.Will, Hutch, Whinny, etc.

I think it's kind of funny too that we have lots of fan's saying Ted doesn't open up enough to get players in. Then Vikings go balls out and get criticized for it.

Really? I've seen MANY NFL films interviewing old school defenders.. and they talked a LOT worse than what Allen said. Allen sounded like a bunny rabbit compared to those guys. Not to mention when I played football, some of the stuff we said.

No it doesn't. Because sacking a QB from behind isn't an illegal hit.

wow technical much?

Show me in print or on tv when the last time a player said he wanted to bury his helmet in the spine? in the MODERN era...( or something similarly violent)

FYI I am PERFECTLY fine with the statement.....

But the game as we know it NOW..that is not a common thing...and when the statement did come out I recall didnt go over to well here..

And as Zero has said it is illegal

but lets just pretend it isnt a bad thing to bury a helmet in a spine

Weeeeeeee! I don't have to even post and you Packer fans are getting all worked up. This is fun.

LOL.

Well, I'm glad he's back. Not bitter about him playing for you guys either. We replaced a Hall of Famer with an elite QB. The drop off wasn't that noticeable, and it may not even have been a drop off at all. They produce exactly the same stats pretty much. The only real difference between Rodgers and Favre is from 1 yard out, Favre throws it in and Rodgers runs it in.

Now as for the Vikings, good. I'd rather earn my wins. You know with TJ or Sage, we'll sweep you guys. Now it will be a good fight.

I just find it amusing that the Vikings had to have a sleepover to get Favre to come back. I'm wondering how it went down. Did they stay up all night and have a pillow fight then play charades until Deanna kicked them out of bed so she could sleep?
