I bet Greg is next. This is awesome news.

Greg should get signed through 2014 too, just so they know they are going to be a threat together for at least 6 more years. 🙂

Now let's wait for the numbers to debate the merits.

5 years good.

The signing bonus is likely rolled into increased pay for this year so there is no future cap hit on the signing bonus like the Wells contract.

Everybody happy now. The Packers much happier in 2-3 years.

I don't think we have to worry about violating the salary cap minimum anymore.

Roddyboy-- My kneejerk reaction to your post would be the suggestion that you go find some other team to try and truly root for, but upon reflection I realized there are no current NFL franchises in outer space.

They could have killed two birds with one stone too. Extend him plus throw in some incentives he won't reach. That'd be pretty sweet.

This contract will assuredly be as front loaded as possible in order to count against this year's cap to the greatest extent. There are some stipulations though. For example: let's say the extension was 5 yrs/$50 million. We couldn't pay him $20 million this year and spread the remaining $30 million over the next 4 years for a $7.5 million per year average. Per Andrew Brandt, a player's salary cannot be more than 50% more than the following year.

But, rest assured, it will be as front loaded as possible in order to use as much of our available cap room this year as we can.

beast (5-Apr) : The 25th pick in the draft has been an offensive player since 2017, 2 TE, 2 WR, 1 RB, 1 OC

Mucky Tundra (3-Apr) : Diggs, Collins, Dell and Schultz is gonna be tough to cover
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Stefon Diggs' trade will not be processed as a post-June 1 designation, so that is just over $31 million in dead cap this year.
