Shucks, my parents got a deer last Monday. Amazing how versatile a mini-van can be.

Well... I personally didn't get a deer myself this year, but I still have one from the gang to eat this year..

But on Turkey day, one of the guys in the shack walked up on this monster laying dead.. gut shot and a couple days old.. but we have seen him around a couple times this season.. anyway... 22 5/8 wide 10 point buck..

We are going to mount it European style and put it on display in the hunting shack.. Anyway.. my daughter took the picture with my son holding the deer.. I tagged it so we could legally mount it without paying the DNR an extra fee.. the coyotes and wolves had most of the hind quarters and guts ate already.. big deer though.

They aren't anything to mess around with...

updated 8:02 p.m. CT, Mon., Dec. 1, 2008

SEDALIA, Mo. - A hunter bagged a big buck on the second day of firearms season, but the kill caused him a lot of pain. Randy Goodman, 49, said he thought two well-placed shots with his .270-caliber rifle had killed the buck on Nov. 19. Goodman said the deer looked dead to him, but seconds later the nine-point, 240-pound animal came to life.

The buck rose up, knocked Goodman down and attacked him with his antlers in what the veteran hunter called "15 seconds of hell." The deer ran a short distance and went down, and died after Goodman fired two more shots.

Soon Goodman started feeling dizzy and noticed his vest was soaked in blood.

So he reached his truck and drove to a hospital, where he received seven staples in his scalp and was treated for a slight concussion and bruises.
