I think the Niners are overrated. They're not as good as their record last year would indicate.

This coming year they come back down to earth. Starting in week 1.

Typically, under a new head coach, teams tend to have a better year one than the prior year. I think the 49ers are good, just don't see them getting more than 9 or 10 wins this season.

Even with a stellar year this year many expect them to go 13-3 or 14-2 (win the SB of course. That goes without saying.) But a couple of losses is a little less of a season than 2011's 15-1.

ya look at how great the Packers were the past few years they were awesome and the Giants sucked
2011 super bowl champs
2010 miss playoffs due to tie breaker with packers
2009 8-8 missed playoffs
2008 12-4 lost division round
2007 10-6 beat the undefeated Pats for the Super Bowl

Man they sucked the last 5 years but we are far better than them.

ok did some research and here is the 10 best records from last 5 years

Falcons 47-33 1 losing season
Cowboys 47-33 1 losing season
Giants 49-31 0 losing seasons 2 Super Bowls
Chargers 49-31 0 losing seasons
Ravens 49-31 1 losing seasons
Colts 51-29 1 losing season
Saints 52-28 1 losing season 1 super Bowl
Packers 55-25 1 losing season 1 Super Bowl
Steelers 55-25 0 losing seasons 1 Super Bowl
Pats 64-16 0 losing seasons

Ok thought it was interesting

Back to your regular threading
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I'll take the SB wins. Right now, the Giants are the best team of the past 5 years, despite the regular season record. We're tied for next (with a few other teams).

Are the 2011 Niners overrated? Their D was solid and D wins championships. Hard to say unless we played them in the CG, which we didn't because we shot ourselves in the foot against the Giants.

I don't think the Niners are overrated. They have a defense full of studs.

Mucky Tundra (3-Apr) : Diggs, Collins, Dell and Schultz is gonna be tough to cover
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Stefon Diggs' trade will not be processed as a post-June 1 designation, so that is just over $31 million in dead cap this year.
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Bills trading WR Stefon Diggs to the Texans in exchange for a 2025 2nd-round pick. (via @rapsheet)
beast (3-Apr) : Using Patterson as RB and RB/WR tweener... so I think they also signed Patterson as a 3rd down RB, not just a kick returner as articles are
beast (3-Apr) : I think PFT missed the real Steelers/Patterson connection, Steelers new OC Arthur Smith has been Patterson's head coach the last 3 years
wpr (2-Apr) : It has Martha. I was stunned when I was in HS to learn Iowa was still playing half court BB in the 70's.
