The Green Bay Packers have placed tackle Mark Tauscher on injured reserve with a knee injury and signed guard Nevin McCaskill. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, announced the transactions Thursday.

Tauscher started all 13 games at right tackle this season.

McCaskill, a 6-foot-4, 315-pound first-year player, was signed from the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad. He originally signed with the Buffalo Bills in July 2007 as a non-drafted free agent from Hampton and spent the last season on the Bills' practice squad.

He will wear No. 67.

Perhaps the coaching staff will be able to see something in this player that he will be able to help us down the road.
Maybe he will be some help for our abysmal special teams.

Green Bay - The Packers placed right tackle Mark Tauscher on injured reserve today and signed tackle Nevin McCaskill to fill the open roster spot.

McCaskill, a 6-foot-4, 315-pound first-year player, was signed from the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad. The 24-year-old originally signed with the Buffalo Bills in July 2007 as a non-drafted free agent from Hampton and spent the last season on the Bills practice squad.

He will wear No. 67 for the Packers.

Here's a little bit more information from the website of the agency that represents him, Pro Star:

Originally out of Hampton University (where the head coach is former NFL DB and DB Coach, Jerry Holmes, a coaching client of ours), Nevin is 6040/302 and has and can play all positions across the offensive line.

2008 NFL SEASON
He is currently working at OG and OT on the Philadelphia Eagles Practice Squad, having signed there on 10/21/2008. He spent the offseason in the Buffalo Bills workout program and saw action in all 4 2008 preseason games (jersey #69), starting at LG in game 4 vs. Detroit. He was released at the 53 man reductions on 8/31/08. While with the Bills, Nevin worked inside playing some C and primarily OG.

2007 NFL SEASON
Nevin entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Buffalo Bills. He saw action during the 2007 NFL preseaon and was released at the 53 man cuts. He resigned to the Bills Practice Squad for 14 of the 17 weeks during the 2007 regular season.

Hampton University
2006 All MEAC as a senior and 2nd team All-MEAC as a junior. Nevin started started the final 34 consecutive games of his Hampton Pirates career at left tackle. He helped clear the way for two 1,000-yard backs for 2 consecutive years, and he earned MEAC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors in 2006 for his effort against Gardner-Webb, grading out at 85%during that game and recording five pancake blocks to help the Pirates rush for 325 yards and seven touchdowns.

Zero2Cool (11-Jun) : Apparently it costs the inductees a LOT of money to attend.

beast (10-Jun) : I feel as if I need more details. Owens said he's not physical showing up, but he could still give a speech via video.
Zero2Cool (9-Jun) : Using 32 reporter votes is wrong.
Zero2Cool (9-Jun) : They held grudges against him, and ignored his excellence on the field. Bogus shit. Political garbage.
