2011 the Packers were near the bottom with 29 sacks. After week 7 they are first in the NFL with 24 sacks.

2011 - 29 sacks, 27th place
2010 - 47 sacks, 2nd place (1st place was Steelers with 48)

sacks are nice. Pressures and hurries of the QB are important as well. They lead to ints.

You'd think eventually this could lead to a top 10 ranked D. They have been inconsistent at stopping the run so far. Sometimes get too soft in the second half when up by several scores

But yes. I wrote up the sack totals for the last 5 SB winners. 4 of the 5 were amongst the top of the NFL in sack totals. No coincidence.

The only exception were the Saints. But they led the NFL in INTs. Again, no coincidence.

The Packers have been outstanding with their pressure this season. It's definitely not a coincidence that sacks are up and the secondary (Tramon Williams & Sam Shields) is playing better.

It's not the fault of our sack artists that our DBs can't hang onto interceptions (with Hayward the lone exception from this verbal criticism).
