I also agree with dfosterf that Hawk is not fully healthy. If he is healthy, and he's really this mediocre, he may play himself out of the league within a few years. Our LB's have been a big disappointment overall this season. I thought they were going to be one of the strongest groups of LB's in the league. Instead, they have been average at best. And average isn't good enough.

Here is the thing.. if he is not fully healthy and not able to provide more than what he has been.. then he shouldn't be in there.. especially not at the pivotal position of Middle Linebacker.. if it comes out that he has been playing with a significant injury.. then I will even be further disappointed with Moss and Sanders..

It really wouldn't make much sense to not play Bishop this week. I would like to see us just using Poppinga in the rotation at DE and make room for Bishop, Chillar, and Hawk.

I hear ya on that one. But with the higher-profile players, it seems like coaches are reluctant to sit them unless they are injured in a way that drastically hinders their performance. I still think Favre should have missed some games in '99 with the bad thumb and in '00 with the bad wrist. He played some of the worst games of his career with those injuries, and they never got a chance to heal during the season.

Why is it that Moss said "When my job is on the line, the guys that give us the best chance to win within the game plan, they're the guys who play"? Shouldn't the best linebackers be playing all the time anyway? Not just when your job is on the line.

You're reading way too much into the word "When." What he means is, "As long as I'm in charge." His job is always on the line because he's responsible for that unit.

Well I'm not so sure that's what he means. You could be correct but I'm not sure of it.
