My name is Steve and I have been a Packers fan since 1974. I was born in 1965 and grew up in Chippewa Falls Wisconsin.

I wish I could say the Packers were always my favorite team but as a youngster growing up in a household where no one showed any organized sports allegiance I formed my opinions the way many kids do, I backed the winner of the first championship game I remember.

That game was Super Bowl following the Miami Dolphins perfect 1972 season so my favorite team became the Miami Dolphins. The next year, when the Dolphins returned to the big game it was only logical, since I liked the Dolphins, that I hated the Minnesota vikings (at least I got that part right right from the start.)

When Bart Starr was hired as head coach ( I still have my Fresh Start With Bart bumper sticker) I started to research this team called the Packers and found out they were from my home state. That was great now I had a local team to root for. Then I realized that my most hated team was from a neighboring state and that made it so much better. Then I realized that my most hated team was also a divisional rival and the game was on.

Since then I have been a full fledged Packers fan My first favorite players that I can really recall were Steve Odom and Ken Payne. I loved the Dickey to Lofton connection and I can still remember Howard Cosell comparing Paul Coffman favorably to Kellen Winslow the All World Tight End from the Chargers. Like many of you I followed the team steadfastly through the dark ages of the late 70's and the 80's, always optimistic and often disappointed. I was hopeful, as all Packers fans were, that Forrest really would set the pack on fire and that they truly would fly high with Lindy. Alas it was not to be. Then things slowly started to change for Packer fans throughout Packerland and indeed the world. A man by the name of Ron Wolf came in and good things began to happen.

Mike the first came in and so did a huge monster of a man known by packers fans everywhere simply as Reggie. It was the start of something big and I think everyone could sense it. For the first time the Pack really was back. I was at Lambeau field when a Future Hall of Famer named Brett Favre made his first start there and it was one of the most memorable times of my life (coincidentally I was also there when he made his last start there as a member of the hated purple gang from across the river and that was also a memorable time) I watched the Packers defeat the Patriots in superbowl XXXI on a small TV on a couch off by myself in a house full of people watching the game on a big TV (not a big screen just bigger than the one I was watching on) because I wanted to experience the event all Packers fans hope for on my own. I don't think I said 10 words to anyone that day and when it was over, after the initial cheers, there was no jumping up and down and screaming and clapping, there was just a bunch of heartfelt handshakes, slaps on the back, a hug or two here and there and more than a few tears of joy and a huge sense of pride.

The following year, after the final whistle sounded I rose from my seat at my brother's house, put on my shoes and coat and simply said "see ya later" and left. Nothing more was said. Nothing needed to be said. It was like a 180 degree turn from the feelings of a year earlier. Disappointment, not euphoria was the word of the day and the weeks that followed. Like all Packers fans though I got over it. It was not the end of the world and it was not the end of the Packers. I watched the Packers beat the Steelers in Super Bowl XLV all by myself (the alternative was to watch it with a bunch of Bears fans and after enduring their company two weeks earlier that was not going to happen.) from about the middle of the second quarter I don't think I sat down for more than 5 minutes and I think I wore a path in my carpet.

My carreer choice has made it so that I do not get to enjoy each and every Packer game live any more but I look forward to each and every one of them with the same fervor as ever. Well, some a little more than others perhaps but the fact remains that I am a Packers fan through and through. In the past few weeks I have been considering selling off some of my packers memorabilia collection as I could use the money and the vast commercialization of everything nowadays has made obtaining new pieces far less enjoyable than in the past. I don't have the money to scour eBay for the good vintage stuff anymore and the new stuff just screams "flush your money away." Just writing this short (trust me, if I spend any amount of time here you will consider this short) introduction has buoyed my spirits however. I don't think I will sell anything. It is all a part of my fandom. It has a place and it serves a purpose. It reminds me, not that I need reminding, every time that I walk into my apartment that I am a fan of the greatest sport franchise on the face of the earth. The Pack Will Be Back? In my heart they never left.

I have to go now and if anyone is still reading, thank you. It's time to get some work done but I will be back (I heard those groans)

Go Packers, Green & Gold Forever

My name is Steve. Im 62 years old. Haved lived in Ohio all my life. I started watching the Packers in 1960 at the ripe old age of ten. I consider myself fortunate to have grown up rooting for the 60's Packers and to still be a fan of the real "Americas team". My first game at Lambeau was opening day 2007. I ended up going five times that year, including the Seahawks playoffs and the Giants championship games. What an awesome year! I met some great people there tailgating and have been fortunate to get tickets for about four games a year. I post tailgating pictures regularly on the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal Packers page. You will usually see me in my stripped bibs in pics with tailgating fans. I actually have a couple hundred pics there. Its something I really like doing, photographing the tailgates at games. Im really happy to have sites like this to come to. Its fun to share our love for the Packers and to hash out our joys and frustrations as fans. I always learn from other peoples opinions. I feel blessed to be here. Go Pack!

My name is Thomas Reddy. I live in Las Vegas and write general interest and sports articles for Yahoo and other websites. I am a diehard fan of the NFL. Since I am originally from New York City, I am partial to the New York Jets but as a sports gambler I follow every team with great interest. I was asked to join the site and am happy I did. I always appreciate the opportunity to read everyone's opinions. It gives me a more refined ability to judge a season or a game and can be the difference to being on the right side of a spread or an over/under. Looking forward to some great conversation with other footballphiles.

My archive of articles can be found here, if anyone is curious how I see the start of the 2014 season. I do think the NFC North will be a very competitive division and the Pack will need to do better than 8-7-1 to make the playoffs this year. The Division is well balanced and anyone can win on any given Sunday.

dfosterf (9h) : For the record, I enjoy Beast and Mucky drafts
Zero2Cool (16h) : Haha
Mucky Tundra (17h) : No time for talking! Back to work beast!
beast (18h) : You saw only 4,201 of my mocks? 🥺 I think that means you missed more than half of them 😢
dfosterf (21h) : Does anyone know what Lambeau field improvements got put on hold? My guess would be for the 2025 draft
Zero2Cool (23h) : It's like listen, you made 4,201 mocks, no shit.
Zero2Cool (23h) : Cuz during the draft "I had them mocked there!" as if it's amazing.
Zero2Cool (23h) : They're fun to do once in awhile. It's people who think they are "content" that annoy me.
dfosterf (23h) : Against tbd
dfosterf (23h) : Answer to your question is yes, it's a Thursday, will be the Chiefs aga
dfosterf (23h) : Luckily for all concerned, I don't post them. I did one, but that was like 25 mocks ago
Zero2Cool (23h) : NFL 2024 gonna start Sept 5th isn't it???
Zero2Cool (23h) : Ugh... kids these days!
dfosterf (23h) : I'm gonna go do some more mock draft hell instead 🤪
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : Did we do one of those prediction threads yet for 2024 season?
dfosterf (27-Mar) : In my city, they are playing the nimby game, in order to keep some railroad tracks vs. 2 professional sports teams and a concert venue.
dfosterf (27-Mar) : And/Or a city council, of which I haven't seen a good one in a very long time
dfosterf (27-Mar) : That sounds like a Mayor, not a city.
buckeyepackfan (26-Mar) : Packers halt scheduled 80mil upgrade of stadium until lease agreement talks are restarted
Zero2Cool (26-Mar) : City of Green Bay puts Packers' Lambeau Field lease talks on hold
buckeyepackfan (26-Mar) : Packers 1 of 3 teams to vote no on new kickoff rule.
Zero2Cool (26-Mar) : Packers sign another Kicker
dfosterf (26-Mar) : Lengthy explanation at PFF if you click the link
dfosterf (26-Mar) : Kickoff rules officially changed.ngthy explan
Zero2Cool (26-Mar) : lol
Cheesey (26-Mar) : 2009? No thanks! One open heart surgery is enough!
dfosterf (26-Mar) : Good for you!
Zero2Cool (26-Mar) : Yes. That's the one.
dfosterf (26-Mar) : Is that "Lady Dugan" per chance?
dfosterf (26-Mar) : Crystal?
dfosterf (26-Mar) : Please refresh my memory
Zero2Cool (26-Mar) : Alan posts. Crystal back in my life. It's 2009 all over again! Lol
Mucky Tundra (26-Mar) : BAH GAWD! THAT'S CHEESEYS MUSIC!
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Gutekunst said early stages of Jordan Love contract being discussed.
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Shouldn't be penalized cuz official screwed up
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Yeah, challenge until you are incorrect twice.
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Fining them is the goal, per the people who made the rule anyway.
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still waiting on the kickoff rule changes. Did hear yesterday that the touchback proposal will now be the 30 yard line, not the 35
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Probably speed of game issues with your proposal
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Hopefully the refs don't get in the habit of throwing flags on this
beast (25-Mar) : I think when it comes to Challenges should get two strikes, so unlimited challenges as long as they keep winning them, but 2 wrong then done
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still subject to the fines etc
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Yes, I should have been more specific. Also, they are now saying it would be a 15 yard penalty. That makes more sense .
beast (25-Mar) : Simply fined in the week to follow
beast (25-Mar) : I agree with one NFL official, it'll probably be like some of the helmets hits, not really called by the refs on the field but simply fined
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Hip drop is not. Super confusing. Referees job is harder
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Swivel hip drop is banned
dfosterf (25-Mar) : The hip drop enforcement will be in the form of fines, etc. Not flags
dfosterf (25-Mar) : A major foul will be enforced on the offense if there are offsetting penalties in a change of possession situation
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Teams will receive a 3rd challenge if 1 was successful. Previously, it took 2
