Running back or defensive line. Sit and pick at No. 26 or trade back. As Ted Thompson contemplates the Packers' first-round pick in Thursday night's NFL draft, those have to be two primary questions as he readies for his first shot at meaningfully augmenting his roster this offseason.

Some are saying Lacy will be gone before pick 20.

Lacy is the most overrated player in the list of possible first round prospects.. I would not want him over a back that can be had in the second. (barring a run on backs for some reason).

We can get the steal of the draft and draft Lattimore in the 3rd round. He claims he will be ready for week 1
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Thing is, even though he might be ready in week 1, I fear his career might mirror that of a guy like Cadillac Williams.

I guess it's worth a shot when you're drafting at the end of the 3rd, but I wouldn't trade up for his services.

Doctors will decide whether Lattimore is even on the board. He certainly would've been the top running back if he were fully healthy.

I much rather see the Packers trade down and target Johnathan Franklin or Le'Veon Bell than select Lacy. Frankly, I rather see the Packers take Bell or Franklin in round one instead of Lacy.

Lacy would help the team, though. In fact, he would start. I obviously think you can do better, but I wouldn’t trash the pick were it to become a reality.

Lacy gets crap for playing behind a beast line but he also played against the best defenses. It's not like he was running all the way to the end zone untouched though, the guy broke a shit ton of tackles whether it was from LBs or DBs. I found a neat article discussing some of the top backs.

Mucky Tundra (3-Apr) : Diggs, Collins, Dell and Schultz is gonna be tough to cover
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Stefon Diggs' trade will not be processed as a post-June 1 designation, so that is just over $31 million in dead cap this year.
