I'm not saying the Seahawks aren't good. They definitely are. But they're not going to the Super Bowl, and they aren't going to win it, at least not this season. They're just not there yet. I've watched Russell Wilson for a very long time, as I'm an NC State alum. Used to see him around campus and such. He's definitely a guy you don't want to bet against. But Seattle as a team has a lot to prove and I think they're over rated. They will be in the playoffs, but I don't see them going to the Super Bowl.

I did like the moves they made in the off season and the draft, though. Especially the focus on obtaining more talented defensive linemen. If a team has a consistent and serious pass rush, they almost always have a chance. I didn't like the Harvin trade.

I like how he says both qbs have proven they can get them to the Super Bowl with the Seahawks and Pats. Did I miss something when did Wilson lead them to the Super Bowl?

He didn't say proven they can get them there he said "we know they can get them there" meaning we know (or at least strongly believe) that they have the talent to get them there. He feels that Wilson has the talent to get the Seahawks to the SB so he says we (meaning he) knows he can get them there. Similar but not the same.

Can you count any playoff team out from going to the Super Bowl or winning it? I only ask because you seem rather definitive with your statement. We've seen a 10-win Green Bay team run through the NFC, the Giants do the same with nine wins, and a 10-win Baltimore team go through the AFC. It seems as if 10 teams enter the playoffs with real Super Bowl aspirations. There are exceptions like the 2010 Seahawks or the 2012 Colts, who are just happy to be in the dance, but in today’s age, the playoffs have never been as wide open. My point is that I don’t think you can count Seattle as one of the two or three exceptions per season. If they make the playoffs, they’ll be very dangerous.

If the Packers and Seahawks were to meet in the playoffs, as of this moment, I would be taking the Packers. I would also take the 49'ers in the same situation. There could be a few other teams that could potentially beat them as well, perhaps a reasonable 50/50 chance (vs. a no-brainer win by the Seahawks). That's the basis of my opinion.
