Can someone refresh my memory as to what it was that Starks did or didn't do to fall to the bottom of the depth chart?

If you'll recall, he was the star RB of TC up until a week or two ago. Then, he didn't get into the game until the 4th quarter. Sure, he fumbled, but he was already held out until the scrubs were playing.

I naturally just assumed they already knew what they had in Starks, and they wanted to get film on Lacy. But now everyone's saying starks "fumbled" to the bottom of the depth chart, and everyone's expecting him to be released.

It's not like he went 1.8 per carry or had negative per carry during the last game or anything.

Maybe a snafu on pass protection? I'm remembering a play vs the Rams where he was in pass protection and a Rams player came up and jumped to deflect the pass and Starks didn't really try to engage him at all. I've seen Green, Lacy and Harris this preseason make a block or two in the games I've watched.

Edit: Packers Preseason Player Stock Watch: Offense

Quote:
Starks also looked terrible in blitz pickup. On a 3rd-and-2, Starks completely missed a blitzing linebacker. His attempt to even block the defender was very timid. After having a strong start to camp, it appears Starks stock has dramatically fallen as of late. He’ll need a good performance this Friday to even have a chance at making the team.
thanks Post received 1 applause.

be funny if they only kept 3 rbs and then the 2 fullbacks amosa and Kuhn. We had 2 fullbacks not long ago; hall and Kuhn ... we have hardly seen amosa thou; only that TD catch so cant really judge too much.

Starks makes the team by default of Harris going to the IR. The seasons is way too long to carry only 3 RB. We have repeatedly seen how banged up they get.

I agree.
Starks making it by default is not a bad thing, the Packers could be in a worse position personnel wise.
Starks can run well when healthy but has availability issues.

Revised:

2013 IR

OT B.Bulaga
WR Sederrick Cunningham
RB Du Juan Harris
WR Kevin Dorsey
LB Jarvis Reed

PUP LIST
J.C.Tretter
Jerel Worthy
Derrick Sherrod
Sean Richardson

Conditions/Events
Greg Jennings Leaves via FA gone to minny

J. Finley signs new contract(Packers pay bonus will play out contract

Charles Woodson restructures current contract....RELEASED
(signed 1 yr deal with Raiders)

Ted will NOT make any draft day trades or sign any big name FA.
(this was easiest predicition to make)

Currently I see 49 of the 53 spots taken, now there will be injuries during TC that will change that #, if Worthy and Sherrod are not ready that’s 2 more spots, if Finley do not come to some kind of agreement that’s 1 more.

So there could be as few as 4 and as many as 8 spots for Draft Picks, UDFA’s and FA signings to compete over at the beginning of TC.

Packers have 8 draft picks, I am not going to try and guess when and who but just going to take a shot at positions,

First round: No. 26 overall.........DE Datone Jones
Second round: No. 61...............RB Eddie Lacey(signed contract)
Fourth round: A -T David Baktiari(signed contract)
Fourth round: B - (moved to injury list)
Fourth round: C- RB Jonathan Franklin(signed contract)
Fifth round: A - CB Micah Hyde(signed contract)
Fifth round (compensatory): No. 167 DE Josh Boyd(signed contract)
Sixth round: A - LB Nate Palmer(signed contract)
Seventh round:A - WR Charles Johnson(Released)
Seventh round: B - WR Kevin Dorsey(IR)
Seventh round: No. 232 LB Sam Barrington(signed contract
.......................................................................................................................8
Ted will draft:

1RB, 1FB, 1 C, 2 DLmen, 1 WR, 1TE and 1S

Ted Drafted 2RB's, 2OT's, 2 DE's, 2 WR's, 2 LB's, 1CB

The most important thing to happen(IMHO) is to set the O-line early in TC and keep those 5 guys together playing as 1 unit as much as possible.

O-line starters from L-R
Newhouse, Lang, Dietrich Smith, Sitton, Bulaga
now being reported

Have fun tearing it up boys, but no matter what most think, when healthy this team is pretty solid across the board.

After months of editing, I can finally put this thread to an end.
Before there was preseason,OTA's,rookie camps, and drafts I put together what I thought would be The Packers 2013 53 man roster.

Was 39 of 53, NEVER GONNA DO THIS AGAIN!!!!!
