The way this team reports injuries the whole arm is probably amputated.

Hopefully they don't chop off the wrong arm the first time.

He'd be able to punch it out better.

I would think anything short of a really mangled compound fracture, and he could postpone any surgery until after the season and play with some kind of a soft cast. I don't think they allow those "clubs" like in the good old days.

I know that they do allow it actually. The Redskins had a defensive lineman with a club. I believe it was Barry Cofield.

You're correct. Sean Lee of the Cowboys played with one two years ago.

But maybe this injury could have been avoided if Matthews stretched a little bit more before the game...

Morgan Burnett had a club last year, did he not?

The real problem is, with a broken thumb, will Clay still be able to inject himself?

Didn't Perry play with a club some last year, too, before he went on IR? It's pretty common, it seems.

One month as per Schefter.

That's not too bad, hope it's true.

Quote:
Packers LB Clay Matthews still is undergoing more testing, but he is expected to miss one month with a broken thumb

Apparently it's a bad break.

Might need surgery or something.

We got by for 4 games last year without Clay, and at that time our backups were Walden and Moses. If we could do that last year, we can get by this year with Neal and Perry.

None of the next 4 teams are real offensive powerhouses either. Season ain't over.

Last year I think we went 3-1.
