Daniels has been our only pass rush from the D-line all year. Why on earth would anybody want to make in a LB?

I agree. Daniels has played extremely well on the DL. I don't see that bulk transferring to LB. Not at all. As for Datone Jones, I am really looking forward to him getting off the schneid and making a big impact as a pass rusher. Pile up some sacks. Force some turnovers. he did make that really nice fumble recovery last week to help add the FG before the half.

1: He can get to the QB.

2: He's undersized for our DL.

3: The DL in our system is supposed to take up blockers, to allow the LBs to get to the QB.

1. No shit that's his role on the DL

2. He's not the right size for an OLB either. Plus he's been just as beastly at stopping run plays so I don't see how his size is relevant at all.

3. The nickle DL in our system is supposed to get to the QB and he's the only one whose been able to do it.

Regarding Datone, that's what I'm waiting for and IMHO the more snaps he gets the better he is going to be.

This isn't Madden. You can't just take players and have them all of a sudden play a completely different position. It's hard enough to successfully change a player's with an entire offseason, and you expect it to work out with three days of practice?

Of the healthy guys, I think the strength of this defense is the NTs (Pickett, Raji and Jolly) and Daniels. Packers defense is ranked 3rd best against the run... and I'm assuming part of the reason the Broncos are #1 is because teams stop running as much trying to keep up with the Broncos offense.

But I don't think they could get all the NTs on the field AND playing well in the Psycho package.

I think it'd be best to stay with in the system that's already in place, other than maybe try to get OLB some more depth there maybe by letting them using Datone Jones some and asking other DL to step up for Jones at push DT in the nickel package. Maybe get Raji, Jolly, Daniels, Wilson more snaps in the pass rush DT role if the can handle it with out dropping off what they were already doing.

I wouldn't count on it, but Boyd might even be active for his first game of the season (because of so many injuries)

I don't disagree. My comment was mostly tongue in cheek based on every name thrown into the pool for alternative options at OLB. If we had everyone healthy I wouldn't mind seeing us try the psycho package once or twice; but everyone healthy isn't a luxury the Packers have claimed in years.

True. Daniels should be right where he is, but using Datone as OLB in some packages seems like a great idea. If Neal is good that way - and he seems to be, then D. Jones should be even better - bigger/faster/more athletic.

His role will have to increase for this game considering the injuries. Put the best guys on the field for the situation.

I've seen Datone stand up a couple times against the Ravens.

As for Daniels. I think his height Is misleading, the guy is a big dude, that size gives him some advantage as well. The lower leverage wins everytime, he's got the advantage.

exactly, I don't see how a player can be "undersized" when his size hasn't been a limiting factor in his performance.

hardrocker950 (8h) : Just wonderful - my pick em didn't register....
beast (17h) : I'm not sure if it's still true, but it used to be hard to get sacks on Eli because he'd toss one up when linemen got semi-close (which lead
Zero2Cool (18h) : Slam Eli a lot very early. Once rattled he can't regain composure.
beast (18h) : since slot WRs might be the Packers strength depth/talent wise
beast (18h) : With AR's passing % down field so low, I've been saying they should go with short passes like the Pats used to do, especially since slot WRs
beast (18h) : What's going to be needed against the Giants is OL and DBs (IMO)
Smokey (28-Sep) : Cook(TE) has time to heal, but may not be needed against NYG on Oct 9th .
Zero2Cool (27-Sep) : . Aaron Rodgers has a completion percentage of 33.3 on 10+ air yard passes this season (tied for the lowest in NFL).
Zero2Cool (27-Sep) : High-ankle sprain could sideline Cook
Zero2Cool (26-Sep) : Odell Beckham Jr, Dez Bryant, Alshon Jeffery and Julio Jones on tap for Packers. Yippie.
Cheesey (26-Sep) : Arnold Palmer was a class act all around. RIP
Smokey (26-Sep) : Rest in Peace Arnold Palmer, you blessed us all .
hardrocker950 (26-Sep) : What a strange weekend of football

TheKanataThrilla (25-Sep) : Cleveland loses.
The_Green_Ninja (25-Sep) : I swear, Jacksonville's hot weather must be a huge advantage. Kept it super close with the Ravens
TheKanataThrilla (25-Sep) : Su'a Cravens with a big INT. A guy I wanted.
TheKanataThrilla (25-Sep) : Can Cleveland win?
Zero2Cool (25-Sep) : T.J. Lang said after one of Aaron Rodgers' TD passes the Packers quarterback head-butted Lang in excitement and said "I'm back."
Zero2Cool (25-Sep) : Terrelle Pryor could see snaps at quarterback

Mucky Tundra (25-Sep) : GET HYPE
Zero2Cool (25-Sep) : Packers aim to showcase speed of Ty Montgomery, Trevor Davis
Zero2Cool (25-Sep) : CB Quinten Rollins will start for Shields. Micah Hyde for Burnett. Julius Peppers for Matthews. Kenny Clark for Guion.
Tezzy (25-Sep) : Probably will not be on the top of the Pick'Em leaderboard after today, soaking it in beforehand
