BAD NEWS (for the) BEARS
Not really. James Jones has some fumbling issues with the Bears.

In every way, shape and form.

The non challenge on the Quarless catch still bugs me. It wasn't a slam dunk, but definitely worth a shot.

^ I also thought Quarless caught the ball.
People are going to get on the offense, but the the Packers were 1-8 against Chicago since Jay Cutler and Dom Capers entered the rivalry.
In those nine games, the Bears have allowed 32 sacks and have turned the ball over 21 times. That’s an average of at least two turnovers and three sacks per game. On Monday night, with an improved offensive line, Chicago gave up just one sack and had no turnovers. The defense did not play up to standard and Josh McCown played well.

Eh, shake it off!
What else can we do? Losing Rodgers was going to be a blow, no matter who we were playing. I'm just hoping it is nothing serious and that Rodgers can return healthy sometime soon.
My hat is off to the Bears. They came in determined. They made plays on offense. Our defense had no answers. I thought there was an incredible amount of holding that went uncalled, but they apparently called the whole game pretty loose. This certainly was a division rivalry game, and being Bears/Packers, we all know just about anything can happen, and it did. There were a handful of game changing plays that could have gone the Packers' way or the Bears' way, and they tilted to the Bears. Balls heaved up while McCown was being hit, instead of being INTs went for receptions.
Packers defense has to look itself in the mirror. Good, midseason gut check.
I think Matt Flynn gets signed this week.

I don't think it had a chance of being overturned. Even with that said, we've seen referee's make worse overturns before. Without knowing when Rodgers was coming back, I understood why you'd want to make sure you have both challenges in your pocket in what was most likely to be a close game where a play or two could have decided it.
And with that said, you play not to lose, you end up doing just that.
Bears 4th an inches on the 33? and go for it. They played to win.
That's the difference.

Yeah, McCarthy does not have a good challenge record, and he knows it. But, you never know. I wanted him to challenge it, but could see why he did not. The play was that close. He didn't have anything to lose though, and I do believe he should have given it a go. Would have changed the game completely, had the play been overturned.
We played to not lose. Well said.
The officiating in this game sucked donkey dong.

Exactly what I said. In a close game you have to challenge that. It could be the difference maker or it could blow a close game wide open. The worst that happens you lose a TO. McCarthy doesn't seem to like to use them when it matters anyway.
Although I must admit when we downed the punt at the 1 I thought maybe it was a good idea after all.

Great shot, even a second later when he just kind of turned and looked as if to say "where the hell is everybody"

Yeah, I saw several holds that the Packers got away with.

Bears have 14 days to prepare for the Packers.
Packers have 7 days to prepare for the Bears.
I know I'm a little late, and there's plenty more important things to talk about, but I was bored and wanted to add my own meaningless info as I read through the topic ...
Since 2008 (beginning of McCarthy/Rodgers era) here's how the Packers have done when their opponent has 2 weeks to prepare. (now 4-6)
2009 at TB L 28-38
2010 vs MIA L 20-23 ot
2010 at NYJ W 9-0
2010 at ATL W 48-21 (playoffs)
2011 vs STL W 24-3
2011 vs MIN W 45-7
2012 at IND L 27-30
2012 at NYG L 10-38
2012 at SF L 31-45 (playoffs)
2013 vs CHI L 20-27
Here's how they have done when the Packers get 2 weeks to prepare. (5-2)
2008 at TEN L 16-19 ot
2009 vs DET W 26-0
2010 at MIN W 31-3
2011 at SD W 45-38
2011 vs NYG L 20-37 (playoffs)
2012 at DET W 24-20
2013 vs DET W 22-9
Do you know how Frazier has done after a bye?
2011 at GB L 7-45
2012 at CHI L 10-28
2013 vs CAR L 10-35
He's 0-3 and gets outscored 108-27 with 2 weeks to prepare lol.

Now that is one hole that I think I can honestly say even I could have run through. Not likely that I would have gotten a TD (I can barely see that far much less run) but I think I could have gotten a first down at least.
