It seems to me that Mike and Aaron are obsessed with breaking Favre's records. They want YARDS. They want chunks of yards, and they want to score fast, so they have more opportunities to get more yards.

They've been playing more fundamentally sound of late, though.

That doesn't really explain why the last few years Aaron has only been 14th 16th and 10th in pass attempts.

How about this compared to "dink and dunkers" Tom Brady and Drew Brees last year

Passes thrown 10 or less yards from the line of scrimmage:

Drew Brees 67%
Aaron Rodgers 68.5%
Tom Brady 69%

The Packers under McCarthy/Rodgers throw most of their passes short they also throw a fair amount of deep passes but it looks like they throw deep more often because Rodgers is so efficient at it. Relatively speaking when he goes deep Rodgers rarely misses.

It isn't "stat-whoring" it's called "winning"

Well, he could stop passing up open guys underneath in order to throw deep. In doing so, he could stop holding the ball for 8 seconds.

He could develop a willingness to throw Hail Marys at the end of the half, risking an INT on his stat sheet. sh!t like that.

no because throwing deep when the play isn't open would be stat whoring. By your own admission Aaron is not a stat whore.

I tried to make you see what a dumbass statement you are making in stat-whoring, but of course YOU REFUSE TO BELIEVE HARD NUMBERS.

Glad I don't live in your world.

Really has to be a scary place at times.

Your attempt really only supported my own position.

So yeah, I'll take the hard numbers. lol

We're a good team, so we're not in a position of having to pass in order to try to come back late in games.

And anyway, Aaron's not really known for his comebacks, is he? lol

He'll throw the ball up, just not when it's an end of half situation.

I feel like the best opportunity to "stat whore" would be if you had a big lead late in the game. You can rack up a ton of yards/points with no risk to winning or losing the game. Doesn't make sense for them to pass up that opportunity.

I think they tend to do it more earlier in the season. Later in the season they do focus more on playoff contention.

What does that even mean? Rodgers pass attempts are typically low for a franchise QB and you say it's because he doesn't pass much late in games which is a prime opportunity to rack up stats. Your argument doesn't hold water. Are you going to give us anything that backs up what you think or just keep spewing this nonsense that has no factual basis?

With how much you act like this is happening you'd think it would be a fairly easy thing for you to point out and prove but so far you've got NOTHING. Come on man show us all of this stat whoring that's going on.

Zero2Cool (1h) : Carter is predicitng the end is in ATL for Packers.
Porforis (1h) : Or I could just completely miss the part where that was Cris Carter.
Porforis (1h) : Careful there. Don't you want to predict a Packers loss just in case?
Zero2Cool (1h) : @criscarter80 :Every fairy tale comes to an end, and this is where the magic carpet ride stops in the ATL.
Zero2Cool (2h) : McCarthy: "JC Tretter actually had surgery Tuesday. He won't be available this week"
Zero2Cool (3h) : Crosby is fine now. Full Participant in practice Thursday
Porforis (3h) : What I'm more worried about at this point is WR injuries and Crosby being sick. Who'd be the backup if Crosby can't go?
Zero2Cool (3h) : We do have hope. Our secondary has improved. Also, he had to throw 80% to get 1 point up. That won't happen again.
Zero2Cool (3h) : I like to tease sometimes.
uffda udfa (3h) : Only 80%? :). We lost by one given that stat? Wish we had hope of tightening up.
uffda udfa (4h) : Z, u should tell everyone who Quintorris is. Quintorris Lopez Jones, better known as Julio.
Zero2Cool (4h) : Matt Ryan completed 80% of his passes against Packers in October.
uffda udfa (4h) : McGinn goes full on attack mode dismissing the notion of "Packers people". Harsh.
uffda udfa (4h) : McGinn says John Dorsey likely to be next Packers GM.
Zero2Cool (6h) : Boom! Davante Adams says last year's ankle injury "more difficult to deal with'
uffda udfa (9h) : Packers brass potentially leaving? Not worthy of discussing. Pressure Cooker? Never enough talk about them.
Zero2Cool (15h) : Put Quintorris in a pressure cooker.
uffda udfa (19h) : Back to football: Julio says he's going to play Sunday. Did NOT say he wouldn't be limited in the game.
uffda udfa (19h) : Anyone ever used their dishwasher to make their Thanksgiving turkey?
uffda udfa (19h) : Favorite Ronnie Milsap song? Smokey Mountain Rain or Any Day Now?
uffda udfa (23h) : Favorite GM candidate... Wolf or Gutekunst?
uffda udfa (23h) : I'd rather sit them than play them too compromised.
uffda udfa (23h) : Yeah, Z. More pressure cooker talk and smoked turkeys.
Zero2Cool (23h) : If this were a regular-season game, Nelson, Adams and Allison probably would not play, MM says.
Smokey (19-Jan) : Mason Crosby is ill, hope it's not the Flu.
Smokey (19-Jan) : Great, can we move past that story and get back to the Atlanta game ?
Zero2Cool (19-Jan) : Packers exec Eliot Wolf has withdrawn his name for 49ers' GM job, as @TomPelissero reported. He didn't feel it was the right time.
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : We'll just have to score TDs then.
Zero2Cool (19-Jan) : That's what we know.
Zero2Cool (19-Jan) : Crosby, Mason K Illness
Smokey (19-Jan) : Is He ill or not ?
Smokey (19-Jan) : Raiderpride asked, "Anyone know what Crosby's illness is?"
Zero2Cool (19-Jan) : Davante Adams expected to play- KFFL
Porforis (19-Jan) : Alright, my opinion on Jordy has changed. If he's medically cleared to play, play him.
hardrocker950 (19-Jan) : By Sunday we won't have any WRs
