I don't get it. I watch the Packers because I like football. It's significantly more enjoyable to watch when they win to me. I guess some people care more about what happens in April than what happens Sept - Jan. The game vs the Cowboys was one of the most enjoyable football games I've ever seen, no way I'd trade that experience to have the team draft 15th instead of 17th or something. Who gives a shit about the draft. Plus we don't even know how the draft will play out. The most valuable players in our last game were an undrafted guy and a guy we traded back in the second round and got.

Don't ya know, the higher pick you have translates directly into the better player!!! Just look at all the Elite Hall of Fame players picked ahead of compensatory selection Tom Brady!!

Just to name a few of the Hall of Famers in that class...

Jason Webster
Todd Wade
Ron Dayne
Travares Tillman
Sylvester Morris

Where we would be picking would be the start of the crap shoot anyway.

I agree Steve. Let's face it, ANY draft pick is an unknown. No matter HOW good the kid is in college, doesn't mean he will be good in the pros. It's ALL a crap shoot.
Look at Rodgers. He was thought to be the #1 pick, and he fell to 24 for the Packers to get.
How many #1 picks over the last 25 years ended up as busts?
Or late rounders ended up being great?

How many passed on Lacy, and now wish they had picked him? Alot, i would guess.

You can't take the playoffs for granted. Alot of teams consistantly miss the playoffs, and would LOVE just to get there. That's where the Packers were in the early 1990's when Favre got here. I, as a Packer fan, was just THRILLED to see them make the playoffs.

Now, we are so used to it, we are somewhat spoiled.

Imagine how the Buffalo Bills fans felt when they lost 4 Super Bowls. They haven't done much since then, and I bet they thought they would get back and win one.
They didn't.

Every year there are usually 5 or 6 guys coming out in the draft that "MAY" make an immediate impact on a team.

After that it is pretty much a crap shoot.

There are plenty of talented guys who go in the 1st round 7-32, but there is no guarantee they wuill make any more of an impact on a team.

Ted is more likely to trade down if The Packers are drafting somewhere between 15 -20.
That's just an observation based on his past drafts.

I wholly agree with you, and anyone who thinks ANY NFL team throws games at the end of the year, don't have a clue.

That may happen in The NBA, where contracts are guaranteed, but not in The NFL. contracts are NOT guaranteed in The NFL, players are fighting for their jobs every year.

Coaches are fighting for their jobs every year.

I agree steveishere. Play it out to win. You never know what will happen. I remember Jeff Hostetler filling in for Phil Simms at QB for the Giants, and they won it all...

Losing to get a higher pick in the draft? That sounds like Minnesota talk.

Every time the Packers lose, it makes the following week worse than it needs to be.

I'd like to not have any more of that. Ever.

If they were going to do the lose thing, they have already missed the boat. They would have had to lay down to Atlanta and Dallas to this properly. Obviously, they are going for the playoffs, and I won't ever root against the Packers. That Dallas game last week was awesome, well the second half anyway.

This is a team that never shows up for a full 60. I do not like the idea of feeding into or encouraging that mentality in any way.
