We are solid in the D-Line right now - Daniels, Worthy, D. Jones, Boyd, and Jolly.

Safety would best be addressed in free agency because of the need for immediate improvement - which wouldn't be guaranteed even by one of the top Safeties mentioned in the article. Do that, then use the top two picks to get the best ILB and OLB available.

Maybe I'm missing something but it's either Byrd or the draft or we have to hope for a genetically modfied MD Jennings.

I woud love to know what Teddy plans to do in this draft I have the feeling this is the first time that draft for need might win over BPA.

I do agree with your take on the safety and linebacker situations.

Micah Hyde, Micah Hyde, Hicah Hyde, Micah Hyde.

Oh yeah, I think Micah Hyde should be our Strong Safety!

Micah Hyde was mentioned and McCarthy said he wants him to be a three down player, including some work at safety. Why not just give him the full-time job at safety?

Hyde has decent experience at safety from his days at Iowa. He wasn't bad at all playing the position either. He's a decent corner, who lacks the man-to-man coverage from time to time (imo). He's a better player in space. He also has the speed and physicality (I'd say he is physical like Woodson, not on par skill wise but similar) to play at safety. He is bigger, but not as big as the two top safeties in this class.

Packers move Hyde to safety and they still have Williams, Shields (pending re-signing), Hayward and House at the cornerback position. Moving Hyde to safety would also allow the Packers to focus their 1-2 round draft picks on let's say...defensive line and linebacker. They shouldn't neglect the safety position in the draft but maybe someone like Jimmie Ward is there in the 3rd round. Take him then, let him learn and then play for a starting job.

There is some merit in solving the problem in house with Hyde (or Hayward or even Tramon Williams), then drafting or signing a Corner - like Verner or Tillman also.

I say again, the D-Line with the five guys I mentioned above and maybe a low round pick or UDFA is plenty good enough. Just getting rid of the two fat pigs that constituted the bulk (no pun intended) of the problem will make the line MUCH better. The quality and mobility of Daniels and probable quality and mobility of Worthy and D. Jones will make for a serious upgrade. It seems like the posters claiming these guys aren't enough just want to draft some new fat piece of crap/Raji clone - something we absolutely don't need.

Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Bills trading WR Stefon Diggs to the Texans in exchange for a 2025 2nd-round pick. (via @rapsheet)
beast (3-Apr) : Using Patterson as RB and RB/WR tweener... so I think they also signed Patterson as a 3rd down RB, not just a kick returner as articles are
