Rick Spielman has drafted more Pro Bowlers for Vikings than Ted Thompson has for Packers.

Rick Spielman's Vikings have lost a lot more games than Ted Thompson's Packers.

Fired Uncle Teddy! He trades down in the draft and doesn't get the quality players.

The Queens are always picking MUCH higher in the draft, no?

Harder to miss on those top 10-15 picks. When's the last time he got them a good QB?

That was my initial thought as well but I'd have to see a list of the pro bowlers and where they were drafted. Were they all first rounders or later round picks or what.

I suppose you could argue that they pick earlier in every round so they get the better late rounders as well but once every team has a chance at picking a player that argument kind of goes out the window.

The bottom line is does this new information make you want to become a viking fan and the answer to that is HELL NO. I'd rather have Matt Millen as a GM than be a viking fan.

I respect your right to have your opinion but that doesn't mean I agree with it or respect you for having it.

As far as I can tell Spielman has drafted 3 pro bowlers for the Vikings. I'm pretty sure Thompson has drafted more than 3 pro bowlers for the Packers.

Edit: It looks like he's drafted 4 pro bowlers since he's been their GM 2 from special teams (Walsh, Patterson) and 2 that got in as alternates (Kalil and Rudolph) yipee. Maybe after a few more they won't have to draft inside the top 10.

Yeah, I'm fairly certain that the quality of a team isn't determined by their number of pro bowlers.

Well, the Pro Bowl is based on fan voting so what else do Vikings fans have to do at the end of the season?

Patterson's the real deal. He's no joke.

Did Spielman draft Apete?

Ted's drafted way more than 4 pro bowlers. Let's see, Aaron, Clay, Eddie Lacy, just off the top of my head. Did Finley make it? What about all these WRs? Bulaga?

How about putting up win-loss numbers and percentages?

Of course, in Ted's tenure the Packers have lost more playoff games, but then again your team does need to make the playoffs before they can lose.

I think if you go by what really matters we got a Macy's and the Vikes got a K-Mart. At least that's what it looks like when you consider little things like overall record, division championships, SB's, etc.

Didn't KC have 6 pro bowlers 2 years ago when they won 2 games?

The Browns I think had 4 or 5 guys go last year.

The viking players and fans also have plenty more vacation days than Packer's fans and players.

Are you really trying to justify Uncle Teddy's 9 drafts to Spielman's 2? Really?
To answer the question about the players-

Finley- No
ALL THOSE WR? Nelson- No Cobb- No Jones- No. Jennings did. Bulaga- No.

Doesn't Mike McCarthy sometimes take his players bowling during training camp? Or doesn't that count.

This does highlight how worthless this metric is in a vacuum. In 2011 and 2013 (Jordy's last two non-injury seasons), he went over 1,200 and 1,300 yards and caught 15 and 8 touchdowns respectively.

In 2011, Jennings went with 949 yards and 9 touchdowns. They probably should've been swapped.

Jordy's played at a pro bowl level. He just isn't technically a "pro bowler."

Just so you know mi, I am not saying Jordy is not worthy of being a PBer. My recent post was saying he didn't get the "honor".

Look at all the years that Marco Rivera played at an exceptional level before he was giving the chance.

edit- I was wondering when I gave that quote. I agree with it just didn't remember when I said it.

yeah, the thing with Jordy though is I believe he was one of the main alternates he just didn't have enough people ahead of him drop out to become a "pro bowler" like the Vikings did with their last 2 guys (Kalil and Rudolph). That's why it's stupid to use pro bowls to try and make some sort of comparison.
