Because they were on the roster last year.

At this point I'm going to give guys, even with 1 year experience, the nod over any rookie.

Especially if Ted and Mike continue their trend of keeping at least 5 TE's on the team.

You know what, I'm deleting the post, this dumbass arguing just isn't worth my time.

You all carry on.

There is no trend of keeping 5 TEs. As far as I can remember we've only had 5 TEs on our initial 53 man roster 1 time.

IMO, the TE position will fall out this way:

1. Quarless.
2. Lyerla.
3. Player not currently in GB.
4. Rodgers.

Bostick, Taylor, and Stoneburner have shown themselves to be just guys. If I was keeping one, I'd keep Taylor for special teams.

I'll go out on a limb and say Sherrod beats out Bakhtiari.

I know, I'm radical.

The roster list above looks decent but I find it really unlikely that they keep 9 OL on the roster. I would think if Sherrod is healthy enough to make the roster, he or Bakhtiari becomes the swing man (since they may keep the two centers) and Barclay is in trouble.

I think they go with Franklin on the IR to start the season and they make a decision after game 6.

I don't believe Stoneburner makes the team and Rodgers does at TE

That leaves 1 left over from the red or 2 if Thornton is IRed. Yellow are guys I could see getting cut but would be surprised, so you could take them off and add a red. My official guess is all the black/yellow names make it and add Rolle

Mucky Tundra (3-Apr) : Diggs, Collins, Dell and Schultz is gonna be tough to cover
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Stefon Diggs' trade will not be processed as a post-June 1 designation, so that is just over $31 million in dead cap this year.
