This surprises me. I'd rather him find new place.

With Packers tight end Andrew Quarless likely headed for leave with pay, the Packers apparently don't intend to ask him to leave without pay. Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com, citing two unnamed sources, reports that the Packers have no plans to release Quarless after a July 4 arrest including allegations that he fired a gun twice during a dispute...

Sounds like the whole thing was overblown in the media.

Remember how Mike and Ted stood by Crosby when he was shanking everything? Well they're standing behind Qless now. Ted has a history of standing behind his guys, did the same wth Koren Robinson. Johnny Jolly too.

It's like Aaron said. When a dude is in trouble, that's when he needs his team mates the most.

Still waiting for the real facts to come out.

EDIT:

Misdemeanor

"First-time offenders, unless they're violent crimes, tend to have much lesser penalties," Griffith said.

You really think the Packers are going to keep this guy after this? That is not the Packers you or anyone knows.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

I'm glad they didn't react with panic and just throw him away. He has been a decent, if not great player. The Packers are better with him than without him - slightly.

If reports are accurate, I don't believe he deserves the teams support.

I agree solely from an X and O standpoint the Pack is better w/ Q. But, the key to D&D is for young stupid debutante testosterone-filled self-entitled rookie children to see how professional men go about their business both on and off the field. If Guion was arrested in’96 his first thought would be, “Sh!t, Reggie’s gonna kick my a$$.” Beside teaching players how to play smart football, Leaders help players resist that little devil on the shoulder whispering in to buy a truck load of pot; party with a gun in Miami ‘til 5AM; smoke some dubbage in public. Conversely, most of Seattle’s “leaders” are pure knuckleheads or worse, which has severely hampered development of their rookies over the last 2 years. Our young TEs have promise and though the TEs are in meeting rooms with WRs [and now QBs], it harms their development if the aged leader of the TE group is a knucklehead.

Assuming that the actual facts are what’s being reported; the Demovsky story is pure horse-whoey. I cant believe GB gave an official, “we’re lookin’ into it,” and TWO others at 1265 told Demovsky, “yaaa, no one died, boys will be boys, sure we’ll keep him regardless of what facts come out.” They may have said, “we’re not thinking of releasing at this time;” or words of similar import. Or the story was leaked/planted as a ruse because GB is out shopping for a TE and don’t want to appear quite as desperate .
I’m w/ Uffda. In the words of the song Negro y Azul [The Ballad of Heisenberg - Breaking Bad]: “This homie's already dead; he just doesn’t know it yet.”

dfosterf (4h) : Put him at right guard. That is where he will be coached. That is where he will compete. He is not even allowed to look at the LT playbook.
