---Worth a watch... 6'2 215...works the boundary, has great body control...great footwork on boundary...catches well...runs well...separates deep. Back shoulder in there as well...contested balls. Might do all the little things Janis doesn't at this point.

Speed is typical for what we're used to...4.5+ guy.

Looks like a solid prospect. The body control was particularly impressive to me.

Plus, he looks like he understands some nuances like in the clip of him (3:30 in) one on one with that defender who is just pissed he let Butler get him like that. A subtle push off...ever seen that before?

There is hope for this one.

I like the "go get it" receivers. When the ball is anywhere in their catch radius, they find a way to haul it in. Looks like he has that quality. Although his college stats don't wow you, he's certainly got as much of a right to be here as any of the other rookies. Let's see what the kid can do.

Any WR's stats are directly related to the QB's he played with. If one plays with the best, like A.Rodgers, then his performance level should elevate as a result. James Butler must learn plays, perfect pass routes , and get into sync with his QB's. He will have mush work to do.

I welcome Mr.Butler and wish him success !

^^^^^^^ Funny stuff. Like I said a few days ago...no situation would ever detail the difference in approach from Ted Thompson to Ron Wolf than this one. Ron Wolf adds Andre Rison...TT adds James Butler. 'nuff said.

Imagine that, a player who looks good in his highlight reel. You can probably take any WR that has played any significant time in college and cherry pick enough plays to make that exact same reel. He does remind me of someone. Someone to not get all excited about as he looks like so many other WRs at this stage of their career. A guy who could be good or a guy who could be out of a job in 2 weeks.

Packers sign this guy he could be a gem, anyone else signs him he's a JAG.

His name is so ordinary. I remember thinking that about Aaron. Who is Aaron Rodgers anyway? He can never be any good with a name like Aaron Rodgers. That's what I remember saying... I don't know who I was back then... I've achieved perspective. Thanks Vic

beast (21-Apr) : Sometimes looking extremely amazing, sometimes looking extremely lost
beast (21-Apr) : I haven't looked into the QBs, but some have suggested Maye has some of the most extremely inconsistent tape they've seen
beast (21-Apr) : Well it also sounds like Patriots are listening to trade offers, not that seriously considering any, but listening means they aren't locked
Zero2Cool (21-Apr) : Maye needs to be AFC
Mucky Tundra (21-Apr) : Not liking the idea of the Vikings getting Maye
Zero2Cool (21-Apr) : Vikings HC joked that he may or may not have sent flowers to Bob Kraft. That's where rumor came from.
beast (21-Apr) : Can't tell if this is real or BS, but some rumors about a possible Patriots/Vikings trade for #3 overall
dfosterf (21-Apr) : One playbook to my knowledge. I was shooting for facetious.
beast (20-Apr) : I'm not sure they have different playbooks for different OL positions, and Dillard run blocking is supposedly worse than his pass blocking..
