I attended yesterday's game in Glendale (along with about 25,000) other Packer fans. Always fun to see things in person you can't pick up on TV or tape. Here are four of my thoughts, two good and two bad to keep perspective (even though the game was obviously not very good).
Good #1: The D is better than it has been for years, and with Mike Daniels, Pennell, HHCD, Burnett, and the two rookie CBs there is some serious talent to build upon (along with Shields who did not play).
Good #2: The STs looked coordinated and like an asset.
Bad #1: There is a serious, serious lack of explosiveness on offense. Everyone looks slow, slow, slow except for Cobb and I guess Starks and while Cobb was quick he was not fast. I specifically watched the WRs and they got no separation.
Bad #2: There is dysfunction on the sidelines. While the Cardinals were fired up from the start, Aaron Rodgers and much of the team looked like they had already checked out. Aaron could not have been more aloof. It is not all about Aaron for sure (and I am a huge fan of #12), because Lang & Sitton looked pissed off on multiple occasions as well. There is something in my view going on below the surface that is affecting the play on the field.
Great stadium, electric atmosphere to begin the game, many great fellow Packer fans, but overall a real stinker of a game.
