What degree of responsibility does this knee issue have with how he performed?

Aaron Rodgers remains on track to work out with minimal or no limitations when the Green Bay Packers quarterback returns for the start of the offseason program next month.

According to a source at the NFL annual meetings, Rodgers’ recovery from his offseason knee surgery has gone off without any setbacks. The source said Rodgers has been “running around.”

“I don’t see any reason why he won’t be ready,” the source said.

The inability of his receivers to get open led to his performance. The lack of running game with doughboy Lacy led to his performance. The revolving door at LT led to his performance. The stubborn play calling led to his performance. Don't really think this knee had much to do with it.

Of course if certain people had their way, Rodgers would've been benched in favor of Tolzien lol.

Oh... and Aaron... I have a box full of extra knee parts if you should need some. Springs, pistons and electronics mate.

Are your replacement parts for the correct knee?

This is far worse than Tolzien and worse than 90% of the 90 or so QBs that were in the NFL in 2015.

Also, if Rodgers was physically hurt one would expect the physical performance to be consistently affected; that he would not have had close to perfect passer ratings while racking up these garbage time stats.

But, psychologically it could explain everything. Assuming the injury did not occur in the last game; maybe it occurred in 1st half of SD game. He gets evaluated at half time and they discover a small tear; goes back into the game and sucks. That week he undergoes more extensive tests and they tell him he has a tear and if he takes care of it; he can get through the season. Very unsure of the knee, he plays like shit at Denver. Oh and again, the idea that as Adams and Cobb became healthier they suddenly couldn't separate; this is raging bullshit denial and not substantiated by the tape [BTW, ya gotta compare 2014 to 2015 and you'll see the receivers were no more or less open].

Rodgers' MVP play is due primarily to his razor-like singular focus on mentally processing play. But what if before every play, he thinks, "gotta be smart and protect my knee." Or every time he plants or sees DEs not being pancaked by his OTs, he's thinking, "gotta protect the knee." Or maybe every time he steps or plants and there is a twinge or a click he wonders if he's done for the year. And then on the next 6-12 plays after feeling the click or twinge, he's wondering if it is going to twinge or click again as he sets or moves. All of this psychological attention on the knee would explain why he sucked as a QB; it negated his greatest strength as a QB.

And then once down by 17 or 24, his competitive juices and adrenaline flow and he gets pissed and doesn't give a damn if his knee falls off; he is going to win this game. With his singular focus off the knee and back on QBing stuff-he's MVP again. It is not because his receivers suddenly and temporarily re-learned how to get open.

He was above average... which is extremely low for Rodgers. Put it this way from 2009 to 2014 his lowest QB rating was 101.2, in 2015 it was 92.7....

People say the WRs couldn't get open deep... and the truth is they did struggle at it... but there where way to many times where a WR would get open deeper, (especially James Jones using great route running to fool/trick a DBs and get a number of steps on the CBs) and Rodgers would either clearly overthrow everybody even the deep Safety in the middle of the field or he'd under throw it, forcing the WR to come back and battle the CB for the ball.

Normally it would of been a 20+ yard catch and what ever YAC the WR might of been able to get... but instead it ended up with the ball on the ground and in comes the punter.

Of course I don't know it was the knee, but something was clearly off with Rodgers accuracy last year, even when he got good blocking and WRs were getting reasonable open...

But it could of been other factors

- I don't buy into this one, but some people have suggested Rodgers accuracy was off while on the field, because Miss Olivia Munn is turning him on while off the field.

- One I buy more into is that during training camp, all the reports were going NUTS over how often the DBs were getting their hands on Rodgers passes, as normally DBs rarely ever touched Rodgers passes, not even Woodson, Harris and Williams... but all of sudden all these young DBs were all over Rodgers passes knocking them away. Turns out, Rodgers told the press that he's intentionally throwing the passes a bit off target with the purpose of teaching/training the WRs to fight/adjust to the ball, because when the real games come his passes aren't going to be perfect and they're going to have to do a better job of adjusting and fighting for the balls.

Well to go back to one of Vince Lombardi: "Practice does not make perfect. Only perfect practice makes perfect."

So when Rodgers was practicing perfect, he was close to perfect in games.
When Rodgers was intentionally throwing off in an attempt to help others for their future games, he was far from perfect in games.

Maybe Rodgers should go back to practicing perfect and leave the adjusting to balls and fighting for the ball to the WR coach to worry about. Just a thought...

dfosterf (23h) : Does anyone know what Lambeau field improvements got put on hold? My guess would be for the 2025 draft
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : It's like listen, you made 4,201 mocks, no shit.
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : Cuz during the draft "I had them mocked there!" as if it's amazing.
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : They're fun to do once in awhile. It's people who think they are "content" that annoy me.
dfosterf (27-Mar) : Against tbd
dfosterf (27-Mar) : Answer to your question is yes, it's a Thursday, will be the Chiefs aga
dfosterf (27-Mar) : Luckily for all concerned, I don't post them. I did one, but that was like 25 mocks ago
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : NFL 2024 gonna start Sept 5th isn't it???
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : Ugh... kids these days!
dfosterf (27-Mar) : I'm gonna go do some more mock draft hell instead 🤪
Zero2Cool (27-Mar) : Did we do one of those prediction threads yet for 2024 season?
dfosterf (27-Mar) : In my city, they are playing the nimby game, in order to keep some railroad tracks vs. 2 professional sports teams and a concert venue.
dfosterf (27-Mar) : And/Or a city council, of which I haven't seen a good one in a very long time
dfosterf (27-Mar) : That sounds like a Mayor, not a city.

dfosterf (26-Mar) : Kickoff rules officially changed.ngthy explan
Zero2Cool (26-Mar) : lol
Cheesey (26-Mar) : 2009? No thanks! One open heart surgery is enough!
dfosterf (26-Mar) : Good for you!
Zero2Cool (26-Mar) : Yes. That's the one.
dfosterf (26-Mar) : Is that "Lady Dugan" per chance?
dfosterf (26-Mar) : Crystal?
dfosterf (26-Mar) : Please refresh my memory
Zero2Cool (26-Mar) : Alan posts. Crystal back in my life. It's 2009 all over again! Lol
Mucky Tundra (26-Mar) : BAH GAWD! THAT'S CHEESEYS MUSIC!
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Gutekunst said early stages of Jordan Love contract being discussed.
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Shouldn't be penalized cuz official screwed up
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Yeah, challenge until you are incorrect twice.
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Fining them is the goal, per the people who made the rule anyway.
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still waiting on the kickoff rule changes. Did hear yesterday that the touchback proposal will now be the 30 yard line, not the 35
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Probably speed of game issues with your proposal
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Hopefully the refs don't get in the habit of throwing flags on this
beast (25-Mar) : I think when it comes to Challenges should get two strikes, so unlimited challenges as long as they keep winning them, but 2 wrong then done
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Still subject to the fines etc
dfosterf (25-Mar) : Yes, I should have been more specific. Also, they are now saying it would be a 15 yard penalty. That makes more sense .
beast (25-Mar) : Simply fined in the week to follow
beast (25-Mar) : I agree with one NFL official, it'll probably be like some of the helmets hits, not really called by the refs on the field but simply fined
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Hip drop is not. Super confusing. Referees job is harder
Zero2Cool (25-Mar) : Swivel hip drop is banned
dfosterf (25-Mar) : The hip drop enforcement will be in the form of fines, etc. Not flags
