Well Crap. What is wrong with this guy? It is frustrating when guys don't play up to their potential. It is maddening when they simply piss it away.

Pennel to serve second 4-game suspension

Defensive tackle Mike Pennel will serve a four-game suspension to close the Green Bay Packers' regular season for a second violation of the NFL's substance-abuse policy, but is eligible to return for any postseason games, PackersNews confirmed Tuesday.

I don't understand how he was able to get a 4 game suspension for a 2nd offense.

I'm not sure, but I read were one fan suggested it was because the NFL offered to drop it to only 4 games, if Pennel would drop his lawsuit against the NFL and NFLPA. I don't know if there is any truth to that or not.

I'm sure that the lawsuit has it's part in this drama, but the NFL must have hard evidence for this action .

So I'm guessing that Pennels first violation was Marijuana, and he was suspended for 4 games rather than 2 game check fine he should have gotten. And then they tried to give him a bigger suspension this time so he filed a suit.
