Perhaps I was not clear enough, so I'll restate.

1. Replace the GB GM.
2. Replace the GB DC.
3. Make Defense priority one over the Offense in recruiting players.
4. Reevaluate every Packer roster slot.
5. Don't change Montgomery's jersey number until it is determined what position he may/may not play .
6. Make The Packers new Motto, DEFENSE RULES !

I agree with your points smokey. I'll list my priorities just because:

#1: Fire Capers, get a DC that will scheme a plan based on the players he has and not try to adapt the players to his loved scheme.
#2: Get a shutdown CB from FA at all costs.
#3: Resign Lacy, Cook, Lang.
#4: Let Peppers go, we need team players not stat-hunters.
#5: Draft DBs and OLBs and do a great job there.

I agree with your points smokey. I'll list my priorities just because:

He's had a few huge picks:
- Rodgers

- Jennings
- Nelson
- Cobb
- Raji
- Finley
- Sitton
- Lang

If you ask me I think Thompson built the Superbowl team himself, he picked Clay, Collins, Raji, Rodgers, brought Woodson. He was brilliant and we won a SB.
Then he build a great OL and got a good corpse of WRs.

His last drafts couldn't fix the secondary and you can't win a Sperbowl without a secondary.

Does this mean that Teddy should go? Maybe, I honestly don't know.

1 - Get Capers out NOW! He can't make adjustments and he loves that zone defense regardless of who we play. This coverage of his gets lit up regularly. Injuries played a part, but you can't expect to get stops on defense by playing soft coverage against guys like Julio. I lost all hope today when I saw guys crossing over the middle uncovered, nor contested in any form until they already had the ball in their hands. I will be hesitant to watch anymore games as long as he has this job.

2 - Ted needs to either spend a few bucks on much needed free agents, or step down for someone who will. Seriously - people use the "small market" excuse as to why he "has a hard time inking players." Yes, because so many guys would rather go to Cleveland for the endorsement opportunities over playing for a CONTENDER? Adding his lack of success on drafting defensive players and you end up realizing he is not as amazing as people think. I have no faith in him to improve anything.

3 - Training staff needs evaluated/replaced. We are always one of the most injured teams and it would be insane to continue believing that we are simply unlucky. Hamstring injuries are a regularity - UNACCEPTABLE! Some will disagree, but my opinion on the matter will not change.

4 - Going along with #2, We NEED to get a shutdown corner. As I am well aware that we started the season with Shields, there is a good chance they won't have him next year. There needs to be a plan to either bring him back, or someone who is capable of his role.

5 - DBs need to work out with the receivers and learn to catch a ball. We have seen so many missed opportunities literally slip out of their hands. That near pick in the end zone against Atlanta was basically their last change to get any traction in that game, and predictably it got away.

The Trainer's are professionally trained caregivers that carry out the instructions of the Team's Medical Doctors. The Players have been told and stretched and exercised sense before they became teenagers to avoid injuries. However at the NFL level, often performance trumps safety. As a result, players push themselves beyond their physical limits.
Some injuries occur during games as one player falls upon another , breaking a leg or spraining an ankle or breaking a finger/thumb. In the past players , not just GB's players, have suffered injuries ranging from lacerated spleens to concussions to horrific fractures.
It is a collision sport and injuries are going to happen. It is in the nature of the game. We hope that luck or Karma or Jesus himself will protect every player on every team, but it just does not happen as we would like.

Placing the blame for player injuries upon the Trainers is worse than wrong, it's wrong minded.

Going forward, I believe that GB's highest priority should be centered upon building a much better Defense. The first changes need to come at the CB position/s . Draft, trade, hire a free agent or any combination, but GB needs CB's that are lightning fast, smart, and physical.

The Offense, healthy and ready to compete , will carry forward as long as their are no drastic off-season changes.

Other Defensive changes need to take place as well, but first, FIX THE CB/s POSITION !

One thing I see missing is having somebody on the sidelines from the coaching staff that keeps or gets the players fired up. Last time I can think of having somebody to do that was Kevin Greene. McCarthy doesn't have that personality and Dom sits in the booth. Somebody besides the players needs to keep the energy flowing on the sidelines.

As much as I don't think grown men need cheerleaders to make them do their jobs, defense is one of those things that is really controlled by a tough and cocky mindset. I can't say I disagree

I have a strong inclination that this Packers defense is going to be even better than 2010. Don't ask why, but I do trust Ted. With a healthy randall, maybe another CB, this team can catch fire.
