New philosophy, fresh blood needed for Rodgers’ success

Clearly, it was Aaron Rodgers that carried this team beyond expectations in 2016. It certainly wasn’t the defense.

And because the Packers’ defense has been nothing better than so-so the past few years, the chances for Rodgers and the team from Titletown making it back to the big game look pretty slim.

I feel the same way, it's now or never time to upgrade the defense in regards to Rodgers success and getting the Pack back to the Super Bowl.

Unless we can add 4 or 5 more all pro type players the defense won't really improve much under Capers

Interesting thread.........here you are complaining that the Packers need to upgrade their defense and in the same breath you want Capers fired?
Can't have it both ways...........Capers can only work with what he has to work with. The blame lies on Thompson for his ineptness on the bad defense

Super Bowl Window Banging Shut

Naw, Uncle Ted is simply going to draft the next HoF QB before he rides off into the sunset. (Maybe he already has.) 😁

We don't NEED Aaron Rodgers. Is he a good player? Most of the time, when he decides to show up. Do we NEED him to win it all? NO.

As bad as the NFC Championship looked, I don't think the team is as far off as some would like to think now. We played about 1/2 the season with what should be the bottom of the depth at CB as starters. How many here without searching name the #4 & #5 CB from the team in 2010?

Yes the secondary got picked on, but in the games where they were really bad, how much pass rush did we have? Not much. We need a middle rusher on the line to complement Daniels. Clark did OK and might improve but the center needs more pass rush which will help the edge rush. and we have to find somebody who can cover the middle of the field. whether that is another Safety or a fast LBer. Do that and our secondary becomes much better automatically.

It also seemed to me that it was another game where for a large portion we either forgot about short routes or ignored them. There is nothing wrong with throwing a 3 yard slant. Heck two of the TDs were on them but away from the goal line we barely ever see them.

It will always be that we're never far off because we have Aaron Rodgers. Same crap we heard with Brett. With the ol' gunslinger you always have a chance. Sad that we're never really that far off but can't ever get there. There's a reason. Why is that?

beast (5-Apr) : Probably not going to let Diggs walk away unless he's horrible... but according to reports he also might not be as good as he used to be.
beast (5-Apr) : The 25th pick in the draft has been an offensive player since 2017, 2 TE, 2 WR, 1 RB, 1 OC
Mucky Tundra (5-Apr) : Odd, why give up a 2025 2nd Rounder for him if you're just gonna let him walk?
Zero2Cool (4-Apr) : Texans to let Diggs be free agent in '25
buckeyepackfan (4-Apr) : 49r's aign RB Patrick Taylor.
Martha Careful (4-Apr) : Reversion to the mean would indicate we will keep it
Zero2Cool (4-Apr) : It's also been utilized in a trade in 14 of the past 20 years
Zero2Cool (4-Apr) : The 25th pick in the draft hasn't been made by it's original holder since 2016.
Mucky Tundra (4-Apr) : Gotta imagine that Green Bay vs Houston will be a primetime game this upcoming season
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : No. Kill QB. No worries. 😁
Mucky Tundra (3-Apr) : Diggs, Collins, Dell and Schultz is gonna be tough to cover
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Stefon Diggs' trade will not be processed as a post-June 1 designation, so that is just over $31 million in dead cap this year.
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Bills trading WR Stefon Diggs to the Texans in exchange for a 2025 2nd-round pick. (via @rapsheet)
