The guy is a damn stud.

At free safety, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix has become a Pro Bowler and earned every bit of that honor in 2016. His constant presence provided at least some semblance of a security blanket for Capers, giving the coordinator the comfort of knowing that he had an equally adept run-stopper and ball-hawk on the back end of the defense.

Hopefully he will work on his closing speed over the summer. It`ll likely come in handy covering up for Rollins and Randall as much as he does.

I`ve been critical of HaHa this season, but it has to be hard dealing with a CB situation that was such a mess this year.

Still needs to start laying the lumber a bit more. Going over the middle should not be the pleasant experience that it is against us.

One thing I've seen with Haha this season is he's over adjusting to the poor CB play... so he leaves early on the first potential problem because he doesn't trust the CBs (and possibly very rightfully so this season), but leaving early opens up a second route/hole which offensive play calls at times have seemed to target and been going for.

I think Haha was trying to do too much to help the CBs and thereby giving the offense another opening they could work with because Haha was predictable in trying to help very quickly and not waiting for the QB to make a move... thus allowing the QB to go the opposite way.

If Brice develops enough that they can use him often at S... and resign Hyde... I'm wondering if we might be able to see a lot of Hyde and Burnett at CB/LB hybrid positions a lot more often. That's the one out of the box potentially fix I see for early next season. Though the plan has some limitations because they don't quite play like CB/LB so they could be targeted in some way but they have done well in those roles.

I would like to see him in a scheme where all of the players in the secondary know what the hell they are doing on every play.

Ha Ha claims he's not even close to the player he could be. I wonder what might be holding him back? LOL.

Hoping that isn't some unrealized Datone Jones styled bravado right here:

"I'm sorry to tell you this, but I'm not even as close to as good as I'm going to get," Clinton-Dix told the Packers' official web site. "Going into my fourth year, I'm telling you, it's going to get a little crazy. ...

"Since a kid, I've been a top safety coming out of high school, a top safety coming out of college. What's next? I just challenge myself to be compared to one of the best in the league, to an Earl (Thomas) or an Eric Berry and all the great safeties around the league. I just try to compete, and I'm just trying to be the best."

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

Normally it is us fans who overvalue the player. This time the media is saying one thing and us fans are going "wtf?" I just don't agree that he showed anything this season. What the hell has he done today earn all the praise?
