Beast, your creativity and good humor should be acknowledged. It's rare to read post that are not afraid to lean against the stiff and cold post that are the normal fare.

OTA's and Mini-Camp is over.
Just heard where The saints lost their starting LT for 5-6 months.
Thankfully The Packers have made it through to this point without any major(new) injuries.
(KNOCKING ON WOOD)

Plenty of young talent showed their stuff the last few weeks.

Now comes the scariest 6 weeks of the preseason.

Most everyone will be going home, here's toe hearing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on the news about any Packer.

from UDFA's to Veterans.

NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!

TC begins in about 6 weeks, then the real battles for a spot on the final 53 begin!!!!
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

Over the next six weeks the players will be taking vacations , or be involved in business projects ,
or getting pumped up for a new season . The great Walter Payton used to run up and down hills to get himself ready for a new season , perhaps the Packers also have a few workout warriors too .

The Coaches will also take a little well deserved time off for themselves too, but not as much as the players will. They must prepare for the new season by being ready with playbooks, workout schedules, nutrition evaluations for each player, purchasing /repairing equipment, etc.

Some fans, like myself, will be studying and getting ready for another season of fantasy football. Trying to keep enough owners so that the league can compete for it's 5th season is always a challenge. Recruiting new members always seems to be the toughest task of all .

I feel like going over all the positions so here we go!

QB: The battle is can they show off Hundley enough to get a team to offer up a high draft pick after training camp (doubt it) or next off season (more likely)... and how does Callahan look... can he be a long term back-up? (which I'm assuming yes, otherwise they wouldn't be thinking about trading Hundley).

RB: Wide open battle after Monty.
FB: Rip and then everyone else.

TE: Battle for #2 TE

WR: Battle for #4 WR and battle to keep 7 WRs on the roster again. Also on a smaller note, a battle for who the WRs will be in two WR sets. Also battle for STs roles.

C: Can anyone challenge Barclay for the #2 center spot or is Barclay a lock?

OG: RG position and future of both starting OGs positions as a lot of guys are in contract years at OG.

OT: None in my mind

===========================================

NT: Clark has taken the starting role... but who's the back-up? Jean Francois? Guion?

DE: I'm thinking Lowry could have the outside 3-4 DE spot locked up, but the interior rotation and who they're going to use in Peppers/Datone DL snaps... most likely Lowry and Adams with some Jean Francois too.

OLB: What's the back-up order? Who's gonna win the 6th OLB spot?

ILB: Of Ryan, Thomas and Martinez... who's not going to start? And can a 4th ILB make it? (I'm guessing no because of the Safeties will be getting more time in a S/LB hybrid role)

CB: Everything! Who starts to who's the 6th CB (Waters? Hawkins?)

S: How much will they play in the S/LB hybrid role and how ready is Brice and Jones.

====================================

K: None, Crosby for the win

P: Everything including other teams... like last year... in theory our season punter could currently be on another team right now.

LS: Can Hart make the coaches forget about Goode, or will they be signing Goode after the 53 man roster cut down.

I strongly suspect that Hundley and the Packers have / have had an understanding that QB would work hard and give his best (knowing that unless Rodgers got injured, that he had no shot at GB's #1 GB.)
and that in return they would try to get him to a team where he could compete to be #1 . Neither is overanxious at this point in time to rush themselves into a bad deal . As a result Hundley and GB will continue as before and keep grinding .

Callahan may just be GB's future QB. Yes you heard it here first . He is young, talented, smart, and may be the perfect fit for when A. Rodgers decides to retire . By that time he will be a veteran QB that has mentored under a HOF GB and should be in the best physical shape of his life. Unless someone truly amassing just happens to drop into GB's lap, then Callahan is sitting pretty .

As for TRAINING CAMP BATTLES , I believe that the ILB position will make or break the 2017 Packers Defense .

Jordy seems to be getting it back. Will Cobb? Adams needs to prove last year was his real skill level. He's really only done it for one year. After that, Trevor Davis is on the chopping block. The staff has been sending him the message, has he received it? Janis could be gone too, if one of these rookies shows ST acumen. I like Dupree and Yancey. I think both can play.

That rookie Amichia was it? Let's see if he can play C. Might need a year. Lucas Patric could make JahrinEvans expendable. Or Lane Taylor.

Lots of depth here. Keep Guion until you need to cut him, just in case of injuries.

OLB: What's the back-up order? Who's gonna win the 6th OLB spot?

We need depth here.

I think Gilbert and Calvin can play. Fackrell should progress, which would be huge. Jayrone is just a guy until he proves he can still make those flash plays. Beigel needs to prove he can stay healthy. This group osnthe biggest question mark on the team

ILB: Of Ryan, Thomas and Martinez... who's not going to start? And can a 4th ILB make it? (I'm guessing no because of the Safeties will be getting more time in a S/LB hybrid role)

Correct, the plan is for Burnett, Jones and Brice to solidify the inside.

At least entire NFL if you count Deone Bucannon as a LB... if not, then the Cardinals run a 4-1 as their main defensive package

Teams still use their "base" package as a run defensive package, for running situations, or if they're facing a great running team like the Cowboys... but it's no longer the main defensive packages in the NFL.

As coaches have been saying for years, their depth chart is different than the depth chart that the public depth chart.

Mucky Tundra (3-Apr) : Diggs, Collins, Dell and Schultz is gonna be tough to cover
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Stefon Diggs' trade will not be processed as a post-June 1 designation, so that is just over $31 million in dead cap this year.
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Bills trading WR Stefon Diggs to the Texans in exchange for a 2025 2nd-round pick. (via @rapsheet)
beast (3-Apr) : Using Patterson as RB and RB/WR tweener... so I think they also signed Patterson as a 3rd down RB, not just a kick returner as articles are
beast (3-Apr) : I think PFT missed the real Steelers/Patterson connection, Steelers new OC Arthur Smith has been Patterson's head coach the last 3 years
wpr (2-Apr) : It has Martha. I was stunned when I was in HS to learn Iowa was still playing half court BB in the 70's.
Martha Careful (2-Apr) : Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese...women's sports has come a long way. GREAT TO SEE!!
