Not much yet, but so far all positive

Of course ever since Bigby saying how great he was and he couldn't even run on his ankle injury from the offseason, I have stopped trusting players to admit anything. And okay isn't saying he's great... but hopefully everything is good.

The dude that hit him better get a huge fine. Helmet to helmet is not acceptable.

Do they do fines in preseason? Probably, I just don't remember it.

I had the game with Eagles announcers and they found an angle that showed it was crown of the helmet to Dupre's inside shoulder... but they also said he shouldn't be leading with the crown and criticized him later for not pulling up on hit, during the overthrow to McCaffery, as the ball was clearly out of play and he took a shot at McCaffery anyways., Mayock saying that would be a penalty in the regular season.

But it wouldn't surprise me to fine out that he got a broken collarbone from the hit or a concussion from the whiplash or hit with the ground...

And while that angle showed it wasn't helmet to helmet, that's probably only because Dupre was fighting to get on the outside... it might of been helmet to helmet if he went straight up the feild.

During the broadcast it looked like it was helmet to shoulder, but Dupre lowered his head so maybe helmets hit too?

I thought it was a legal hit. The other hit by same guy was not though because the WR clearly didn't catch the ball and he still smacked him.

Refs were clearly in their preseason too - I get not wanting to be ticky tacky about stuff like PI in preseason but player safety rules especially when it's that flagrant - Got to flag him on that. The last thing the league needs is someone thinking they can pull that shit all the time, or someone getting hurt.

Hope the kid turns out to be OK. But enough with the fine crap. There was absolutely nothing wrong with that hit. It was nothing more than a hard tackle. Take off your skirts.

The late hit on the Packer WR that didn't make the catch SHOULD have been called. The ref was RIGHT THERE, and shouldn't have let the defender get away with a cheap shot. Preseason or not, let these guys know that that is NOT acceptable.

Not so much a dog, as forced to be aware of my surroundings combined with ADD which the combo makes it hard to ignore movement around me. So unless I'm really really in the zone I notice what's around me more.

Good updates

  • Dupre and Randall were with the Packers team today, but both in the concussion protocol.
  • Don Barclay's ankle injury was not as serious as initially feared (no timetable)
  • Rayshean Pringle has a stinger.
  • Kentrell Brice dislocated his finger.
  • Richard Rodgers hurt his hand and Packers are trying to figure out how to protect it, which is why he didn't play in the game.

The Packers have submitted videos to the NFL of hits by Eagles players that knocked out Green Bay's Malachi Dupre and Damarious Randall on separate plays.

packerswire.usatoday.com said:
According to McCarthy, both Damarious Randall and Malachi Dupre are now in the league’s concussion protocol, while the Packers received better than expected news on Don Barclay’s injured ankle.

McCarthy confirmed cornerback Rayshean Pringle does not have a concussion. He’s dealing with a stinger.

Tight end Richard Rodgers, who missed Thursday’s preseason opener, is still recovering from a finger injury. The Packers are trying to determine if he needs to wear a club on his hand moving forward.

One final update: safety Kentrell Brice dislocated his finger during the game, according to Michael Cohen of PackersNews.com.

I know. You aren't intentionally checking out women's derrieres. You're such a beast they are flagging you like little does would. Wink

Great news on the injury front.

YES IT IS! ... considering I thought we could have two IRed (or worse) players between Dupre and Barclay.

Actually quite the opposite... I do like checking out derrieres (especially at a gyms/exercising/etc)... but the "flagging" as you put it, seems to happen purely by accident in places of reading... when someone really gets into a book and they then tend to get too comfy in their chair...

And the fact that I've worked/studied at a bookstore on the local college campus... and at times students don't wear as much... even when you REALLY REALLY WISH they did! That first week of warm weather after winter especially, and college students are basically wearing the bare minimum, walking around showing a lot of skin... again, it's not all pretty.

Never got quite this bad though... this is said to be the LSU Library (warning nudity)

Doesn't look clean to me. Dude led with his helmet right into Dupre.

I agree, if leading with the crown of the helmet is illegal, then I think that's an illegal hit.

Though I'm disappointed I can't video the best angle they showed of the hit, which might of been in some sort of slowmotion, which you could clearly see the players went crown of helmet first into Dupre's collarbone area.

If the league wants to make the game safer this type of hit needs to be illegal. Upper body almost parallel to the ground, arms pointed backwards, hitting with the top of the helmet are all clearly visible on this hit. Normally I am rather lenient in my opinion when it comes to illegal hits but IMO this was illegal. If he would have even put his arms out as if attempting to tackle him it may have been different but he didn't even do that. He simply ran his helmet straight into MDs body. The guy is lucky he didn't get hurt himself.

Yeah this guy is a neck/spinal injury waiting to happen, could be the poor guy he's spearing with his helmet or himself if he misses on one of those.

Randall's hit wasn't as bad but still kinda dirty imo, crackback blocks should be monitored even more stridently considering the player getting hit often is blindsided. Randall didn't know anything was coming until the guy was launching his helmet underneath his chin, pretty excessive considering he probably could have blocked him out with just a body shot.

Pack93z (20-Jul) : Why did Revis fall off so sudden? Personally, because he only relied on physical tools he had... short area burst to close and speed. Once gone... he was toast.
gbguy20 (20-Jul) : how has harris been doing as a coach? I've always wanted him or chuck to come back to coach ehre
Zero2Cool (20-Jul) : Revis mastered crazy closing speed and holding lol. Dunno, maybe he can coach. I don't think so.
beast (19-Jul) : Harris has been coaching with the Chiefs since 2013... Andy Reid seems to like hiring former players. He's also the one that got Doug Pederson into NFL coaching.
gbguy20 (19-Jul) : Harris is coaching??? Why the he'll isn't he doing it here
beast (19-Jul) : In some aspects, I completely agree with you. BUT Revis also mastered the jam at the line, which he learned. Just like some guy named Al Harris who is currently a coach in the NFL.
Zero2Cool (18-Jul) : Revis was a freak talent, he can't teach that. Same reason why Jordan can't coach. (jus my opinion)
