Packers may have their one-two RB punch in Ty Montgomery, Aaron Jones

As long as Jones is the featured back and Monty the change of pace/3rd down back I think it will work.

I think Monty is getting the a bad shake in the hype deal. Monty didn't have the same luxuries in his games, as Jones did.

Yes Aaron Jones did very well, but it was against an injured\poor Cowboys defense, when the Packers had their healthiest OL.

I'm not knocking Jones, just saying I believe Monty would of done a hell lot better against the Cowboys than the Seahawks, Bengals, etc... especially with them still figuring out what to do with the injured OL.

It's hard to say how Monty would have done. That said, a one two punch would be great! Opening up the play action pass would give us a new twist and keep the D off of Rodgers.

Monty's been tentative in the hole. AJ just hits it, sets up his blockers well.

Ok. I think Jones is quicker and has better RB instincts. Monty is better blocker, receiver and in the power plays. Which is why I want him in there on 3rd down.

Aaron Jones doesn't have the measurements to be a RB.

不不不不不

There is no change of pace back in this offense
When Ty is in he is in for every down.
When Aaron comes in he Will be in for every down.
Same with Jamaal.
When Randall Cobb comes in(yes they still do that), he is in for every down

Mike said he hopes to at some point have a 1-4 punch.
Still plenty of football left.
Packers are going to need all these guys to get through to February.

Monty's versatility helps Aaron determine the defensive coverage and it helps Mike get match ups.

There is a "I don't know what it is" with Jones in the backfield. Perhaps it is the line, but he just seems to be comfortable hitting the holes and making cuts when needed. This kid is pretty exciting. Is last week an over-evaluation of his talent? Maybe, but if our week-to-week is 80% I'm ok with that.

I dont like monty as a pure rb. When it was announced that this is what he would do I didnt like it at all. He is better as a scat back - a rb that catches or moves alot and then goes rather then tries to power through guys.

It showed when he was a receiver; he is like a stronger cobb not a eddie lacy in his good year.

Im surprised AJ did so well this game; be interesting to see how he does against vs the purple defense. My favorite rookie rb was williams; but my mind might change depending on how AJ keeps doing here.

This week will be a good test for him. Be great to see some consistency across several weeks,

hardrocker950 (8m) : But I put it mostlt on the offense and poor playcalling
hardrocker950 (8m) : I have seen the defense take a lot of flak over the loss..
Cheesey (1h) : Rodgers would have hit open guys. The game plan wouldn't have killed us. Less 3 and outs, and maybe some scores.
beast (1h) : Rodgers wouldn't of abandon attepting to get the ball to Nelson and Adams.
Zero2Cool (2h) : Rodgers with that game plan would have came up short too.
beast (3h) : Yeah the Packers defense got wore out... being on the field so long. Giving longer breathers than 3&out would of helped a lot IMO.
Cheesey (4h) : There wouldn't have been so many 3 and outs, thus keeping our D off the field.
Cheesey (4h) : True, but with the low score we would have had a chance with Rodgers behind center.
Zero2Cool (4h) : Brees is a damn good QB, not giving Capers a pass, not even close.
Zero2Cool (4h) : Saints kicked Packers ass with Rodgers too.
Cheesey (4h) : That's just it. Rodgers needs a DEFENSE as well. And without him, there is NO chance.
beast (5h) : Just fire everyone! Rodgers can do it without them! Hell trade for the healthy Browns players!
Cheesey (7h) : Capers needs to GO. So do players that can't cut it.
Zero2Cool (8h) : Capers presser summed up? INjuries are why we suck. (shut up, coach and adapt)
Zero2Cool (8h) : nearly crapped myself hearing dom capers talk, forgot to close the tab after mccarthy haha
Zero2Cool (8h) : McCarthy said the communication was not good enough on defense yesterday. Injuries in secondary have complicated substitution patterns.
Zero2Cool (8h) : McCarthy again says "I believe in him"... sorry, BS, we saw how you believe in him yesterday.
Zero2Cool (9h) : @The_Green_Gold Highest graded players Kenny Clark & Blake Martinez. It wouldn't be possible to grade an entire defense
Porforis (9h) : Well, it WAS clean until someone 'shouted' in it...
Zero2Cool (9h) : QB Brett Hundley when targeting a WR against Saints: 6-for-15, 54 yards.
Zero2Cool (9h) : clean?
