Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers becomes eligible to return to practice Friday. Green Bay doesn't practice on Fridays, but Rodgers could practice Saturday. "We'll see,' Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Monday, via Rob Demovsky of ESPN. "I mean, he's still going through. . . . There's a protocol; there's targets we're trying to hit each and [more]

Yeah....if they don't win Sunday, it's over. So why bring back Rodgers, to maybe get hurt again?
We have to win out to have even a chance. And even that wouldn't guarantee anything.

9-7 won't be good enough for a wild card in the NFC this year? Seems early to say that.

It seems unlikely when you play around the win percentages of the ESPN's playoff machine (link above), if you set it to winning % then change it so the Packers win all of their games, then the Panthers grab the 5th seed with a 10-5-1 (one tie) record and the Lions and Seahawks both have 9-6-1 (one tie) records.

So while it's not impossible... it's saying the Lions, Seahawks and Packers would all have to lose that extra game... and the likely hood of 3 coin flips all going loss, (if I'm doing this correctly) about a 12.5% chance. So it's certainly not impossible, just unlikely... of course, I've read that the Packers making the playoffs is now down to 5%... so we are rooting/hoping for unlikely things (just like the Packers going on a long undefeated streak last year was unlikely as well).

But there are two wildcard playoff spots, and assuming the Packers go undefeated there are five wildcard teams that could likely get to 10 wins... Packers, Panthers, Seahawks, Lions and Redskins. So it's very likely that both wildcard playoff spots with have 10 wins, but it's possible they might not.

I can just feel it coming...if we win a couple in a row we're going to hear 2010 come up. Last game of season...win and in...lose and out. Could it really come to that? I can also hear...this is just like when we won the SB. Ugh.

Hundley has to lead us to wins over Tampa and Cleveland. 12 has to comeback sharp and take out Carolina on the road and Minnesota at home before needing a win at Detroit.

Can we even call him a Packers fan if he's hoping Packers fans hopes are crushed?

Either way, I don't think you have to worry about it, even if they can beat the Browns and Bucs, it's gonna be toughost getting through Panthers and Vikings....

I still can't believe your that freaking spitful that your anti Packers fan hope...
but it explains why you couldn't say anything nice about the Packers in the whose stepped up thread

Those scenarios are not very probable.

The Packers run the table, there is a better than 50/50 chance they make the playoffs.

From what I can tell by running different scenarios, the worst thing that could happen is 6 or 7 teams finish at 10-6.

The Vikings will be helping The Packers either way this week.
They win this week, then Packer Fans are going to hope they win against the other NFC teams they face, except of course The Packers

The Eagles can really help by beating every NFC team they face the rest of the year.

Atlanta and New Orleans face each other twice in the next 5 weeks, best scenario, a sweep by one or the other.

Things will become clearer with each Packer win.

Let's start with Tampa Bay.
