I went up to GB today. First time in several years. Went through the Packer hall of fame, which was pretty neat. Then watched some of the practice at 11:30am. Was a lot of the o-line blocking, and the punt team.
Watched the QBs go through drills, but Aaron Rodgers wasn’t there. I don’t know why.
It was 81 degrees and sunny, and I didn’t stay for the whole thing.

Loved things in the pro shop...but man....is it EXPENSIVE!
Even the “clearance” items were too much money for me.
Got a “100 seasons” keychain.

Great stuff Cheesey. It is sad how much merch costs. How do you grow the game when most parents struggle to buy stuff for themselves let alone for kids that will outgrown it in a year?

It was pretty good. I really liked how you could get real close to the super bowl rings. I got some nice pictures of them.
I was kind of expecting more though.

To answer your question about Rodgers, most of the "grizzled vets" get to skip this mini camp. Found it strange that even a new guy like Marcedes Lewis was allowed to miss it.

It's cool you were able to go see it. I live in DC, so I never get the chance to go up there and experience stuff like that. Will be at game Week 3 when the Skins host the Packers though. Always make sure I don't miss a chance when they come down here. Even managed third row seats for the playoff game a few years back.

A reporter said something about if you've had six years of NFL, you could skip the minicamp.

That makes sense I guess. Although, why call it “mandatory” then?
It’s just as well. Less chance of a freak injury.
Davonte Adams was out there catching passes. He didn’t come close to the stands, so I couldn’t get a picture of him. He looked good though!
I was hot just watching them. I can imagine how hot the players were. It was 81 degrees and sunny.

At one point I was out to get as much packer merchandise as possible but I've pretty much stopped buying new stuff. I still keep an eye out for vintage glassware and a few other things but he only new things I will buy are diecast cars or things I can find second hand. Thankfully they have stopped producing so much of that. When the Packer beat the Patriots in the SB there were I think 9 or 11 commemorative SB die cast items. when they beat the Steelers I think there were 3. They even stopped the annual mini semi in 2013 or 14 which is the one thing I wish they would have kept up on.

I'll still pick up a few new T shirts from Shopko or wal mart (I'd never pay pro shop prices) each year if I find quality ones I like but the pickings are very slim there as a well

Me too. I go to resale shops and outside fairs and look for deals.
The last jersey I got was about 3 years or so ago. It’s a yellow Aaron Rodgers with green lettering. It has sewn on numbers and lettering. Not a cheapo.
My wife got it for me at the pawn shop for $23. That was my birthday present. Something nice that didn’t cost an arm and a leg.
I just can’t buy things without feeling guilty at the cost. When you are on a fixed budget, you really consider everything to decide if you REALLY want it.
By the way....why do they call it a “fixed” budget? It SHOULD be a “broken” budget!LOL

I don't think it is called a fixed budget I think it's a fixed income

I hear you Cheesey. My income, my budget, my cash flow, Me...its all broke. None of it is fixed.

Here's the most recent item I really wanted but had to pass on

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Green-B...p;_trksid=p2047675.l2557

I don't think that is a bad price I just couldn't justify it.

Zero2Cool (11-Jun) : If I were Owens, after reading what some of the voters have said. I'd say F YOU too. Shady process.
Zero2Cool (11-Jun) : Apparently it costs the inductees a LOT of money to attend.
beast (10-Jun) : Or if Owens is avoiding all HoF activity? Or if he's trying to figure a way to make money off this. Simply saying he's not going to be there doesn't tell me enough
beast (10-Jun) : I feel as if I need more details. Owens said he's not physical showing up, but he could still give a speech via video.
Zero2Cool (9-Jun) : Using 32 reporter votes is wrong.
Zero2Cool (9-Jun) : They held grudges against him, and ignored his excellence on the field. Bogus shit. Political garbage.
Zero2Cool (9-Jun) : Owens has a point. Absolutely garbage how voters acted, and have responded.
buckeyepackfan (9-Jun) : The HOF needs to conveniently forget to include Owen's in the ceremonies, then fake apologize after.
gbguy20 (8-Jun) : Kevin, suggestion box. move the applaud button to the bottom of the post so i don't have to scroll back up after reading a good post. same goes for quote button i suppose
Cheesey (7-Jun) : Well...I wonder what HE is protesting. Maybe that he made WAY too much money?
Nonstopdrivel (7-Jun) : Wait, what? He bitches for years about not having been selected, and now he won't attend the ceremony?
Zero2Cool (7-Jun) : Hall of Fame announces that Terrell Owens has informed them he will NOT attend the enshrinement ceremony in August.
Nonstopdrivel (5-Jun) : Looking at some of the multiyear rookie UDFA contracts made me think of it. But now I see it's standard to sign them for three years.
