Curtis Crabtree said:
The Green Bay Packers have turfed another member of their coaching staff. Associate head coach/linebackers coach Winston Moss was fired by the franchise on Tuesday. “We thank Winston for his contributions to the Packers over the past 13 years,” interim head coach Joe Philbin said in a team release. “We hope for the best for [more]

That didn't take long. Laugh

...Moss’ immediate dismissal almost certainly had something to do with his earlier tweet implying Aaron Rodgers and everyone needed to be held to a higher standard. Moss intimated as much in a post saying he had been let go by adding a #thankstwitter to the end of his message.

Maybe they just wanted to go in another direction.

We're starting to see that McCarthy's brand of almost fanatical loyalty is not necessarily the norm in the NFL, and I for one find myself strangely comfortable with that revelation.

Moss was Associate head coach/linebackers. They come up with some real weird titles/duties in the past couple of years. It's like they had 15 "Assistant Head" coaches so no one would be taken by another team. They will have to tear it all down and start over.

That's true, however I hypothesize that Moss may have been right in this regard. We shall see.

Sounds like somebody’s feelings were hurt that he didn’t get the interim HC job lol. See ya

Moss has been acting like an ass in media interviews all year (most are assuming because he didn't get the DC job, and/or wasn't released from his contract afterwards, but no one really knows)... but if he's been acting like all the time, then he deserved to be fired because he wanted out and acting like an ass to get his way.

Exactly what I was thinking. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if his tweet was accurate and feelings shared by others.

While it is comforting to interpret everything that happens as if it's the ultimate solution to making our team perfect from here on out, let's bear in mind that these reporters have relationships with the organization.

My main interest is to shift out what's really going on in these situations. It might feel super good to see someone get SMOKED by the side we desperately hope is in the right, but that in itself doesn't make that side in the right.

If there is truth in what Moss is saying, then there's truth in what he is saying, whether or not someone wants to personally put him down for saying it.

There's usually some bit of truth in all things like this, football or otherwise. Two sides to every story though. Regardless, Winston Moss sucks and shouldn't have taken to Twitter. I'm glad he's gone. The Packers should have cleaned house last off season. Murphy screwed up, and now the Packers are paying the price. Better late than never though.

As long as he is so big on accountability, as others have posted, he is been a total asswipe in terms of his relations with the press. Newsflash, that is part of your job, especially as an assistant head coach,

Second, I wouldn’t exactly say our outside linebackers, his responsibility, have developed in any meaningful way. Said differently, they have regressed.

I’m thrilled with the changes in the last 18 months. All of the clean lockers on Lombardi Avenue scream out “we’re not going to take mediocrity anymore.”
