It's crazy to think that Aaron Jones, one of the most dynamic running backs in the league last year, was only on the field for 35 percent of offensive snaps. Even with him missing four games, that still seems like a criminally low percentage. Does anyone know if he had injury issues in college or some other reason for the coaching staff to fear he might be fragile? Or did the suspension simply land him in Mike McCarthy's permanent doghouse?

I also find it interesting that the offense was only on the field for a total of ten more plays than the defense. To me that goes to show that they rarely, if ever, ran an up-tempo offense; that they couldn't sustain drives; or both. That would, of course, be congruent with the eye test. I really hope that we see a reemergence of the hurry-up offense with Matt LeFleur calling the plays. I have to think this offense has the horses to run it, provided Aaron Rodgers is reasonably healthy, of course. No one ever accused Peyton Manning of being a mobile quarterback, yet be ran the hurry-up offense with aplomb.

It's a combination of many things. Missing 4 games is 25% of the season. Coming back after being off two weeks puts him a little behind and thus there were a few weeks where he probably didn't see the field as much. Maybe that can be classed as the MM's dog house complex. Next he has to share the load with Williams. I don't see why he should. He out produces so it should be a 70-30 split. (It would be interesting to know how often Aaron's audible from a run to a pass occurred with Williams on the field. I bet it was more frequent than when Jones was in the backfield.) Finally they run 3 and 4 WRs a lot which means neither RB is out there. All these ate away at his playing time.

I think it will be different in 2019.
