John Elway was 37 and 38 when he won back to back Super Bowls. Who knows?

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Tennessee Titans fielded the NFL's seventh most prolific running game last season with Matt LaFleur as the playcaller. A year before, the Jacksonville Jaguars led the NFL in rushing yards per game with Nathaniel Hackett as the playcaller.

Those two coaches are now in charge of the Green Bay Packers offense for 2019.

And LaFleur, the first-year head coach, and his new offensive coordinator, Hackett, have a dynamic quarterback in Aaron Rodgers to go along with it.

Make no mistake about it, LaFleur knows his tenure -- at least in the beginning -- will be defined by Rodgers' play, but that doesn't mean he and Hackett can't incorporate what they've done in the running game.

This is the sort of thing that makes me feel like it was all orchestrated by Aaron. I mean, let Aaron "go play?"

Careful what you ask for.

I mean, I hope it works out. Maybe the Maddenizing of the NFL will save us. But it just seems like Aaron's negative propensities are being catered to. Will he at least have to step into his throws?

The Packers have been great at pass protecting and extending the play when everybody knows it's coming...

If you force running the ball and short pass plays, then defenses might not know when those big extended long pass plays are coming.

Help the QB and OL up by mixing it up...

I like it. We all know Aaron is one of the best, and with a solid running game I believe it will make him just that much better, and even more dangerous.

Replacing Mike McCarthy with Matt LaFleur confirms that GB's Offense will be moving forward with the cutting edge system that has placed the Los Angles Rams in the 2019 Super Bowl game.

In addition, with the support that the Defense received from the GM last season, GB's 2nd season DC should see player improvement at the OLB and Safety positions. IMO, GB should say goodbye to Clay Matthews and possibly get an Edge Rusher through the draft or through free agency.

I agree that GB could indeed win more SB's provided that the new HC and his Staff create an atmosphere that will be conducive to winning and I believe that they will. The chemistry of a team should be player friendly, but discipline must be part of the team's core foundation. That discipline fosters the respect that must pervade as veterans and coaches work to achieve the ultimate goal of SB victories.

Were I to grade GB on the effort to change to a more cutting edge winner, I'd give it a B+ for now as we wait to see what GB does with the draft and the FAs available.

I love the philosophy of running the ball, just like the Patriots did. At the very least, we need a more balanced attack. Running the ball WELL sets a play action, and the big play.

If the last four years of taught us anything, passing to set up the run is not going to work consistently especially at playoff time.

Having the philosophy is one thing, having the horses to do it is another. Having a premier offensive line affords a great running game and quarterback health. (How many times has Brady knocked down or sacked yesterday...very very few)

Let’s get the horses.

Mucky Tundra (3-Apr) : Diggs, Collins, Dell and Schultz is gonna be tough to cover
Zero2Cool (3-Apr) : Stefon Diggs' trade will not be processed as a post-June 1 designation, so that is just over $31 million in dead cap this year.
