Looks like my man DeX has some burst. Good vision, fits with this "one cut" ZBS system.

Gets it done in pass pro too. Has been extremely consistent in practice, almost missed one blitz pickup in the game, but he got a good piece of the guy.

Looked good on those screens too. Nice to see that in our system again. I think this dude was a steal in the 6th.

Yeah this guy looks promising. Even more so since Jones and the other Williams generally miss at least a few games per season. Maybe between the 3 of them they'll have 32 games worth of running backs.

I like the looks of this kid and I think he's going to help the Green Bay Packers.
It seems that I heard that he fell in the draft because of "issues".
Anybody recall anything of that nature?

He missed games, dunno. Academic issues or something. His mom moved nearby to the school, guess he was better than. Don't know the details.

Gotta catch the ball first, dropped two passes in practice yesterday. Won't see the field much if can't be counted on.

Got busted with some teammates for possession of marijuana and having a unregistered handgun. One of the teammates later confessed that the handgun was his. Williams also missed a months worth of games due to being suspended for an undisclosed reason. The off the field stuff and only one year as a starter is why he lasted until the 6th round.

Kind of reminds me of Tyrone Williams.
Rookie CB on the 96' team.
Got himself in a little trouble hangin' with his boyz from home.
I remember reading how Reggie had a little talk with him, and set him straight.
Well maybe Dexter's Reggie is his mom.
Looked good, seem to get stronger as the night went on.
Has a long way to go to take playing time away from Jones.
Who knows about rhe other Williams?
Packers being real quiet about his injury.

DeX got chewed out yesterday, dropped a couple passes. I heard he came back with some long runs right up the middle. 👍

I think Dexter Williams is the real deal, and once our run blocking becomes more fluid, look out. This guy impresses the hell out of me with his ability to float down the line, cut and go. He's very decisive there, and then has deceptive acceleration. I bet we will be seeing big plays from Dex all year.

Saw some video somewhere of Ty Summers completely blowing him up in pass pro. He will need to work on that. Poor kid got decleated.

I love it when someone quotes himself especially when it is unrelated.

There was word that Gutey was on the phone, looking for RBs. I mean, Matt has been pissed at DeX, but dude has the physical skills.

I'm not sure if Matt is pissed, or if Dex has simply been out played... he has future potential, but it's not coming out well enough right now. He might be #4 RB.

Agreed, he may need a year to develop. I just don't see dropping him. Esp until Jones proves he can stay on the field.

Nerdmann I don't know if you listen to Locked on Packers  but back in June they did a podcast on Dexter Williams. It probably hits all your keys.

I don't know much about him. What I hope most is that he is growing up and his off field issues are in the past.

I'm a little surprised that they seem to be bailing so fast on D-Williams given that he's only a rookie and the injury concerns to J-Williams and Jones as well as supposedly being a natural fit in the offense. Hell, they already cut a guy who had experience and played for Hackett in Jacksonville's offense. I guess the drops are really bothering MLF?

Or it could be all the runs that go for less than 3 yards, he's averaging less than 3 in the last two preseason games. That usually doesn't excite coaches.

And yet Tra Carson has been even worse over the whole preseason and he's ahead of Williams on the depth chart at the moment.
